Kiara sat comfortably on the couch in Mateo's apartment. She had been flipping through a magazine and had the TV on in the background just to have some noise. Opposite of her sat Mateo, he watched her from time to time when he'd glance up from his phone.
"Mateo I can feel you staring."
Kiara said, still looking through the magazine. Mateo was slightly taken aback at the fact that he was caught, so he tried to play it off.
"I thought I saw something."
He said trying to save himself.
"Oh really, what?"
Kiara still kept her attention on the magazine. Not caring at all for this conversation. The pair dated before, but Mateo had a hard time grasping the concept of commitment. Also, Kiara wasn't really the type of woman you played with, because it would definitely come back to bite you in the ass if you did.
"Uh.."
Before he could come up with a ridiculous excuse Marco came bursting into the apartment.
Completely ignoring his bother Marco asked Kiara to gather her things, so that the two of them may leave. Before she went to collect her things she gave both brothers a look but didn't ask anything. She only silently got up and did as she was told."So you aren't speaking to me."
Mateo asked once Kiara had left. Even though Marco had heard his brother, he kept his eyes trained on the wall beside him and kept silent. His brain was too occupied to deal with the situation in front of him and he couldn't stand to talk or look at his childish brother.
"You really don't have to do this. I can-"
"Ready."
Kiara spoke, now standing by the door waiting on Marco. That was quick, Mateo thought, but he should know better when it comes to Kiara. She was quick at anything and everything, it was her job. Taking Kiara's bag Marco exited the apartment not saying a word to his brother.
"For someone who constantly says they've changed, you really haven't."
Kiara said.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you need to grow up Mateo. He's your little brother, you're not his."
Kiara shook her head before walking out to follow Marco. Marco had already been in his car waiting and when Kiara had finally come out of the building he'd unlocked the door for her to get in. Once in the car, Kiara looked at Marco trying to read him.
"It's not going to work."
"What?"
"You're trying to figure me out. It's not going to work."
With that there was silence and Marco began to drive off.

I watched Noah's body slowly rise and fall as he slept. He looked peaceful, but also very tried. After dinner, he came up to his room to lay down and was out in a few seconds. I don't know why it worried me, but it got to me so much that here I was sitting in his room watching him sleep.
"Ma chere?"
I turned towards the doorway at my mother, who stood looking at me worriedly.
"Ca va?"
"Oui Mama. I was just checking in on him."
"Aya you've been hovering over him for an hour."
I know I had been in here for a while, but I didn't know I was in here for that long. I must've been in deep thought. Maybe it was time I left the room, so I got up from my spot and headed toward the door. Stopping at the doorway I looked my son one last time before shutting the door.
I planned on going straight to my room, but I found myself getting into my car and starting to drive. It was as if my mind had no control and only my heart did because soon I was in front of Marco's home and knocking on the door. It didn't take long before a maid was opening the door and I was soon seated in Marco's study patiently waiting to see him. While I waited I couldn't help, but get up and start to pace. I was beginning to have second thoughts, but suddenly he enters. He was breathing heavily and you could see from how the heat was leaving his body that he was fuming. I had expected him to notice me, but he was in his only little world. Pacing back and forth, cursing in his mother tongue, and pulling at his hair. It hurt to see him this way because I knew I couldn't reach out and just pull him in for a hug.
Suddenly he sharply turned his body and now he was facing me. Once our eyes had connected the room became silent, so silent you could hear my heart skip a beat. Standing here in front of him drove my mind, body, and soul crazy! It was like I was falling in love with him all over again. Could it be that Leo was here all along?
