I can officially declare that I love this job. I've gotten so much done now and I no longer feel limited. I can finally help my mother with bills, just this month I paid off the water and electricity alone. I even had enough to put away into my savings account. I mainly wanted to save for an apartment and a better car, but most of it was for Noah. Now that I think about my pay, it was kind of a bit much for a personal assistant who's boss was never here. Mr. Rinaldi had only come in once since my first week here and since then he hasn't come in. This made me panic, but it quickly dispersed when Daphne told me that it wouldn't effect me. All I did was assist the department bosses in the building and did things for them, but that still didn't stop me from questioning why Mr. Rinaldi wasn't around.

"Dollface!"

I looked up from my work, coming to greet Daphne's large grin. Furrowing my brows in confusion I eyed her, wondering why she displayed such a grin. Daphne and I have become close during my three weeks here, probably because we were the only ones who worked on the top floor. After she'd shown me the around my first day we had lunch that day, during that lunch is when we opened up to each other thus the birth of our friendship.

"Yes Daph?"

"Did you hear the news?!"

This is where my confusion showed cleared in my face. I had no clue what she was going on about, but she seemed really excited about whatever it was.

"Let's go for barbecue and we'll talk about it."

Now I knew something was really up, though I've been here for a short time there was one thing clear about Daphne, whenever she wanted something from you she bribed you with the devilish great tasting barbecue. I wanted to decline, but my stomach betrayed me.

"Meet down in the lobby in two."

I gave in closing my laptop to gathering my things, Daph quickly dashed away from my workspace to go grab her things.

Daph and I decided to walk the three blocks down the the barbecue pit. We agreed that we both needed the exercise. Walking down to the restaurant Daph and I walked in comfortable silence taking in the sun glaring down on us. Thank goodness I left my blazer at the office or I would've been burning up. Once the restaurant came into view I mentally rejoiced, because my stomach was yearning for large pulled pork sandwich. Inside we were immediately seated, towards the back of the restaurant with a little privacy from everyone else.

"So you want to tell me about this mystery news, I have yet to here about."

I looked over the booth towards Daph after the waiter came and took our orders.

"Okay, okay I'll spill. In exactly one month a list would be put out."

"A list?"

"Yes, a list of employees all eligible to go work for the branch in Sicily!"

I had no clue on how this was related to me, but I was still interested.

"This list will contain over half of our employees, but only ten people will be chosen to go work in Sicily."

"How will  they decide on the ten?"

"After the first list is out the board of the company will observe each person on that list for five months and by the end of the fifth month ten individuals will receive a letter asking them to go work in Sicily!"

By the way she spoke of the opportunity I could tell she wanted to be one of those ten on that list. I knew Daph could do it, she had the only job in the whole entire building nobody else could do and she was also great at it. The definitely needed a person of her skill in Sicily, but I wondered if someone like me would be wanted over there. I bet they needed more important people over there other than a basic personal assistant. Anyways could I move all the way to Italy with my life her with Noah and my mother?

"What are you thinking so hard about dollface?"

I snapped from my dazing meeting Daphne's worried eyes.

"Nothing. I really hope you're on that list, both."

"Me?! Ayanna I was talking about you! They need someone like you over there."

"Me? Daph have you gone daft? I'm just an assistant."

"No, but I may've. Anyways I'll give you two major reasons why you're going to be one of the ten for sure."

I raised my brow at her confidence. I was very interested in these two major reasons she had. How could a branch all the way in Sicily need a simple personal assistant.

"One, you're not only a personal assistant. You yourself constructed the plans for the Henderson contract and you practically lead the entire meeting, you have the skill of a serious entrepreneur. Two, I know you've noticed how Mr. Rinaldi hasn't come in. Well that is because Mr. Fine A** runs that building, so you'd think he'd probably want his PA by his side, right?"

This girl always seems to know how to surprise me. I never even thought of it that way, seeing I just found out about it, but she did have a point.  A large point.

"Alright lets make a pact."

"A pact?"

"Yes, a pact that if we both show up on the first list we'll actually consider the position and moving to Sicily. Also we could start learning Italian ourselves, we could use the Duolingo app throughout the week and each Friday we'll meet up at my place and have a night of learning from Rosetta Stone."

Her offer didn't sound too bad, I'd always wanted to learn Italian and go to Italy. I've been before, a while before I got pregnant with Noah, and to be honest I loved that country. Just a few things kept me from going back all these years and it wasn't just money.
