11 years later........

"That will be all Stella. I am out of touch for the weekend, so no calls unless it's an emergency" Brett said into his phone.

"Yes sir, Have a good weekend" She replied hanging up.

Brett was on his way home from the airport. He was away from his boisterous family for the last week and was missing them like crazy. He smiled thinking about them. Cris had kept her end of the bargain, and gave him a large family with so much love and laughter. But he laughed at how each one was a surprise. A very wonderful surprise.

His older son was born exactly nine months after their wedding. Halfway into their honeymoon, Cris was experiencing morning sickness, they thought she got the flu or food poisoning, from all the seafood they were consuming. Pregnancy didn't even cross their minds. So imagine the shock they were in when the doctor confirmed her condition. Eight months later their older son Gregory Adam Dicamillo was born.

His work was expanding, and with the constant shuffle between their homes and sleepless nights, they were exhausted.Cris had taken a maternity leave of 3 months and went back to work. They had a nanny employed. Just when things were getting better, with Greg getting into a sleep cycle and they were ready to calm a little, that Cris dropped another news.

He could still remember that day she walked into his office, her eyes all puffy from crying, she looked a mess. She threw some reports onto his desk and glared at him.

"Why can't you keep your hands off me !!!" she shouted and then started crying.

It turned out, she was pregnant ....... again. Gregory was only six months, and she was just settling down at work. Though Brett was excited, he could understand her anger. But it didn't take long for her to accept her pregnancy and enjoy it. She resigned, and they had moved into his penthouse for good, making life a little easier.

He thought he lost his heart again when he looked into the beautiful brown eyes of his daughter. Sage Francesca Dicamillio, was born on a sunny day, spreading happiness around her. It felt like even God was happy to send her down. Unlike Gregory who screamed his head off when he wanted something, she just smiled and cooed, she never cried and was always calm and content. She was his Angel.

After Sage, they decided to be more careful and cautious. When Sage was two, Cris wanted another child. She wanted a planned pregnancy. He wasn't so sure, he thought it was too early, but Cris being stubborn got her way.

He could still remember how shocked they were when they went for their first ultrasound. It took a few minutes for it to sink in that they were going to have twins.....  Boys. He thought it would be a lot for Cris to take in, but she surprised him by laughing with happy tears. "Things are always exciting with you" she had said.

With the news of the twins, they had decided that the penthouse was not a place to raise kids. So they searched and bought an old huge bungalow on 7 acres of beautiful land, with a little-wooded area, and a small stream running through it. Cris was excited and had poured her whole pregnancy into remodeling the whole place. They had expanded it, adding more rooms for the ever-increasing family and modernized it. It was an hour from his office, but it was worth it.

With the house filling up they were very happy and content. But the arrival of the twins got difficult, due to complications during delivery, they thought they would lose one of the boys, but by God's grace they survived and they brought Joseph Will Dicamillio and Jackson Walter Dicamillio home on a rainy day with the winds high and cold all around.

Cris had become paranoid, after the near-death experience of the twins, that she spent all her time only with the children. That's all she did, she never took a break and worked herself tireless for the kids. I had lost the easy going happy and cheerful woman I married. With my work expanding more and demanding more travel, we started to grow apart. The kids too got very attached to Cris, would refuse to go to School or stay over with either of their grandparents. Especially, Jackson, he was the weaker of the twins, and his health was always delicate.
