TAMED XXV - RHIO

I WAS jolted awake by the sound of loud knocks on our door. I rushed to answer it without even taking a moment to fix myself up. To my surprise, I was greeted by a strikingly handsome man waiting for me outside. I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment as I realized how unpresentable I must have looked.

"Brent?!"

He looked as fit as ever and handsome as always, but the clothes he's wearing today seemed too formal for an ordinary day. Pero, saan lakad niya? May casual o formal event ba kami? Wala akong matandaang may special activity ngayong araw.

"Good morning gorgeous." He bent his body to give me a kiss at the back of my hand. Awang ang bibig kong pinapanood ang ginagawa nya.

"I've missed you so much, babe," habol pa niya.

"A-ano'ng meron?" tanong ko.

"You don't know? I left you a message lastnight."

"Ano'ng ganap today?"

"I left you a message last night. We'll meet my mom today, right?"

Ang huling natatandaan ko lamang ay noong nasa beach town kami. Iyong mga random beach games ni Jazzver sa team namin. Hinaplos ko ang aking batok at saka napapilit saglit. Marami ngang nangyari kagabi ngunit iyong mga moments ko lang sa propesora ang malinaw. Hindi siya tumuloy sa group games after ng bato-batopik challenge namin dahil may emergency ito habang ako naman ay pinili nalang din bumalik ng hotel kasama si Trina.

"Friday na pala ngayon! Sorry! Hindi ko man lang napansin!"

He pointed out that it was still Thursday, and explained that his mother had to leave for the city the next day after our meeting.

"It's okay, Zamy. We still have time. Don't be sorry," ngiti niya.

"Sige, I'll just take a shower," paalam ko.

"Shall I wait you downstairs?"

Tumango naman ako. Alangan naman dito sa loob? I smiled shyly and closed the door to relieve myself.

I'm meeting his mom today, it's not anything special but I still made sure I look presentable. To match his look, I wore a basic dress and a pair of flat shoes. Nakakahiya naman makita maki sa labas na magkasama tapos ako mukhang ewan?

"Pretty," nakangiting bungad niya sa akin pagbaba ko.

"Thanks," I replied, accepting his arm as we strolled together, nonchalant about the stares from our peers and other onlookers. We exchanged smiles with those who greeted us with a good morning.

"Ibalik mo ng buo si Zamantha pare, ha!" buong pang-aasar ni Liam, pinasan ni Trina.

"So even they know what's happening today?" I mused aloud. Something about today felt peculiar, even though the last time I checked, it was just a regular day. He was simply going to introduce me to his mother, and we weren't even officially a couple yet. But it seemed like everyone was making a big deal out of it, and I understood why. After all, it was all just rumors that we were a couple.

He seemed to be enjoying the limelight, which was why he wanted us to have breakfast together before leaving. As it happened, many students were also in the restaurant, and some faculty members were present as well, chatting over their food.

Brent left to order our food, I tried to keep myself occupied, feigning indifference towards the faculty table. As anticipated, Sir CJ, the renowned faculty member, called out my name from their direction.

"Zamantha?"

Oh great! Paano kasi kami hindi papansinin, magkasama kami ni Brent?

Lumapit ako sa table ng mga guro, tatlo lamang silang naroon: Sir CJ, Ma'am Averie, and Professor Sandoval who's studiously ignoring her surroundings, eyebrows furrowed as she focused on her laptop screen. She looked stunning in her light V-neck chiffon blouse, dark compression pants, and heels. Her glasses only added to her appeal, giving her the air of a professional in an upscale office.
