Today is rough for Axel.

Despite not wanting to go to school and face Chance and Alissa, Axel definitely does not want to stay home and risk another beating from his father. So off to school Axel chooses.

He moves around slowly, trying not to irritate the bruise that formed overnight. Axel walks into the bathroom and takes a short shower. He inspects the bruise on his stomach. The bruise is a light purple, infused with blue and yellow. Axel sighs, getting out of the shower. He wraps a towel around his waist and throws on some decent clothes.

"This shall do, I suppose.." Axel tells himself.

The outfit he chooses consists of dark blue jeans, red converse, and a red hoodie. Red, being Axel's favourite colour.

He doesn't take too long staring at himself in the mirror, in fear of his father catching him. Axel grabs his bag and quietly walks out the front door. Axel's house is only 10 minutes away from the school so Axel decides to walk today. The atmosphere makes Axel's heart feel more at ease. The way the crisp air tints everyone's cheeks ever so slightly, the way the sound of the happy town fills Axel's heart with joy, but unfortunately for Axel, that joy is ruined when his school comes into view. The exterior of the school looks very nice to Axel. The grass is healthy and bright green, the flag is perfectly tied on the flagpole, waving ever so slightly due to the wind. Axel walks inside and spots Chance, Alissa and Emmett. He furrows his eyebrows, but doesn't go over to them, instead he walks past them and to his locker.

Chance spots Axel at his locker and makes his way over to Axel. Axel, who's busy putting stuff away and such, doesn't see Chance approaching.

Chance sighs before speaking. "Axel,"

Axel whips his head up at the sound of Chance's voice. "What the hell do you want?" He asks coldly.

"I'm sorry," Chance says. "But you have to listen to me. It wasn-"

Axel laughs dryly. "Why should I have to listen to you, Chance? You cheated on me, with my best friend. You're such an asshole!"

"Axe-"

"Ohh no, Blondie. I'm not done yet," Axel puts his pointer finger against Chance's chest. "You have the audacity to come over here and try to apologize to me? Well, guess what. Not happening. I'm not going to listen to a dumbass jock's, fake ass apology."

Chance furrows his eyebrows, opening his mouth to say something.

"Now, if you will excuse me, Chance," Axel says, closing his locker. "I need to get to class." Axel scoffs at Chance before turning around.

Axel turns to face Chance one more time. "Chance?"

"Ye-"

Chance is cut off with a punch to his jaw, thrown by Axel. "That's for being a bitch," Axel says, before strutting down the hallway to class.

He sighs walking into his first class. Axel is so glad that he was able to do that without crying halfway through. He sighs, looking down. Sure, he could've been nicer to Chance, but did Chance deserve what Axel did? Yea, he did. Axel knows that,

And so does Chance.
