I love you Chance.

The words replay in Chance's head.

Axel loves me. He thinks to himself.

"I love you too, Axel." Chance says. He hesitantly presses his lips against Axel's for a tender and sweet kiss. The kiss lasts longer than either of the two expect, becoming much more needy and forceful. Axel pulls Chance closer, Chance responding by his hands sliding to Axel's sides. His hands find their way inside Axel's shirt. Axel gasps as he feels Chance's hands on his skin.

"Chance.." he mutters when they break apart. Chance moves them so Axel is laying on the bed, Chance hovering over him. "Chance, I-i don't know if we can do this.." Axel says.

"Why not..?" Chance asks. Axel looks up at the boy hovering over him. "Because.. I-I.. I'm not ready yet.." he admits, blushing lightly.

Chance understands, and although that is what he wants, he respects Axel's boundaries. He lays down on the bed beside Axel, twirling his finger in the brunette's hair. Axel turns to the blonde and blue haired boy laying next to him and smiles, Chance returning it to him.

"Chance..?" Axel says after a while of them staring at each other. Chance responds with a quiet 'yea'. "What are we now?" The brunette asks. Chance smiles. "Whatever you want us to be."

"I.. will you be my boyfriend, again?" Axel asks the blonde and blue haired boy. Chance smiles, pressing a kiss to Axel's cheek. "Of course I will." He says.

The next days at school are great for both Chance and Axel. Chance forgave Alissa and the group of four start hanging out again.

Although everything is going good for them, Axel can't help the feeling that something bad is going to happen. His head is filled with worries and fears and his anxiety is kicking in as he, Chance, Alissa and Emmett walk to the cafeteria.

They all take a seat at a table, talking about random things. Axel can't help but let his mind wander. He lets his mind worry and play out ridiculous scenarios in his head.

He wonders if Chance is just using him. What if he gets hurt again? What will he do then? He wonders if he would even be able to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart if he got emotionally hurt by Chance again.

He's pulled out of his thoughts when someone snaps their fingers in front of his face. "Hello, Earth to Axel?" Chance says.

"Sorry.." Axel mutters. "I was just.. thinking.." he says. He didn't necessarily lie to Chance because he was in fact thinking, but he didn't really tell Chance the truth, either.

Chance smiles at Axel, grabbing his hand and interlocking their fingers together. This little act of affection is enough to make Axel blush profusely.

Axel tried to pull his brain away from the horrible thoughts that are being created in his head, but he can't. He finally just gives in to the thoughts.

The thoughts repeat words Axel wishes he hadn't heard someone call him before.

Worthless

Stupid

Cry baby

Those words alone are enough to make Axel break, but what the voices tell him next makes Axel's walls crumble down.
