Blood of white
A promise, take my hand
Swear to your life
Vow of the trinity
He took her, and she took he
To be forever, the rest of eternity
She's the road in his eyes, the stars in her sky
Cans jingle an annoying tingle as they ride away
In that little red cadillac
From to form, the perfect suburban life
The billboards they pass claiming what they dream in the night
Happiness comes pre-packed these days
Chasing after those perfect manicured lanes
They keep on riding
In that little red cadillac
Decades pass spent like dimes
Champagne cracked for two turns, to whiskey poured for one in an empty living room
He's staring out, and she's wondering
If he'll ride away
In that little red cadillac
Blood bleeds the white, Her wedding band was too tight
Mama always say, you just need to pray
She paints a face, to march in tea of masquerade
Darling, it will go away
Mama always say, that's not the right way
Love, It's just a phase
And she got in with him
In that little red cadillac
He played the role, of the fool who'd do anything shoot the moon
Daddy always say, son one day you'll say
Son one day
Daddy say it be easy one day
And he drove away, in what he gave
In that little red cadillac
Sugar plums dance Jack 'n Jill's dreams away, if they knew the battlefield at play
The picture perfect snapshot never last
Beyond that picket fence
And he said forever, she said always
But forever doesn't mean always
And the vow on the wedding day, was just a phase
Today he drives away
