Wait in Between

A to B, B to C
Excitement of arrival and departure
No one speaks of the wait in between
What happens here, Stays behind
With the baggage lost given no claim
With no family or clan, Monster in hand
In a row of men they must be grandads
Wonder the stories they've conjured like I have in their heads
There is no fitting in this first world cattle corral
Line after line, Wait after wait
Old and young
Those wild or bland
White or not
All the colors seem to blend
Traveling in pairs or those walking that broken road
No one knows where you've gone or where you go
All they know is we're all stuck here
Nothing more then a single serving friend
If even that
