Benevolent

Days start off in a rush,
School starts with Mondays,
Minds wake in a mush,
Bodies seem to be in a daze,
New years ring in with disappointment,
Odd thoughts appear in a drunken haze,
And lives are created with screams.

Beginnings never go as planned,
Bad first ideas are typically banned,
And the stress of pressure weighs down
Infinitely upon the shoulders of those who wear a permanent frown.

Yet one benevolent smile,
One well-wishing soul
Who goes the extra mile,
Makes all the difference
To those who claim it isn't worthwhile.
