She Sits In a Corner

She sits in a corner

Not wanting to be seen.

She sits in a corner

Staining the ground with her tears.

She sits in a corner

With music blasting in her ears.

She sits in a corner

Feeling safe.

She sits in a corner

Feeling threatened.

She sits in a corner

Wanting to be alone.

She sits in a corner

Wishing the corner was smaller.

She sits in a corner

Wondering what’s wrong with her.

She sits in a corner

Wanting to know why she is the way she is.

She sits in a corner

Knowing she hurts the people around her.

She sits in a corner

With her head on her knees.

She sits in a corner

Making herself as small as she can.

She sits in a corner

Feeling unloved.

She sits in a corner

Wondering why she loves corners.

She sits in a corner

Knowing nobody cares.

She sits in a corner

With nothing left to do.

She sits in a corner…

This poem was inspired by a personal experience. The day after the 7 year anniversary of my dad's death, I did exactly as this poem describes. After school, I sat in the corner of a little alcove in-front of my school. I sat there and cried..yada yada yada it's all in the poem.
