I WAS AWOKEN BY a bag being moved, which immediately made me on high alert. A sigh of relief escapes my lips, seeing it was just a bird poking at a bag. I lay back down, my head resting on Thomas' chest. I close my eyes, trying to get at least a few more minutes of sleep. But then I lie awake looking at the concrete above us, when I realize the bird wasn't going to stop anytime soon. This seemed to wake Thomas up, he quickly sits up and I fall off him. I groan and he shouts at the bird. "Hey! Get out of here!"

The bird then flies away, and everyone starts waking up due to Thomas' shout. Newt sits up and rubs his eye. "Are they gone?"

Thomas grabs my hand and helps pull me up. "Yeah, I think we're safe for now."

I grab my backpack, throwing it over my shoulder. "We should get moving. Let's pack it up." My eyes travel to Aris, who was still sleeping. I roll my eyes and kick his foot with my shoe. "Yo, Aris. Come on."

Winston groans out in pain as he struggles to stand. My eyes traveling down at makeshift bandage I made that was wrapped around his stomach, blood still seeping through. Frypan frowns and puts a hand out for him. "Hey man." Winston takes him and Frypan pulls him up gently.

We climbed up and over the debris. When we exited the car garage —well that's what I think it is—, we all looked around. Everything was destroyed, trash everywhere. I swallow thickly before I continue to walk. We were walking in the dirt roads, eyes scanning around. There were building falling apart. Not one building looked in good condition.

Frypan turns to look at us, considering he was walking ahead of us. "What the hell happened to this place?"

Newt looks around. "I don't know. It doesn't look like anyone's been here in a long time."

"I hope the whole worlds not like this."

Thomas stops walking, which immediately made me stop. "Tommy? What's wrong?"

He calls out to the others. "Hang on, stop. Do you hear that?"

We all listen closely, my eyes widening at a humming sound that sounds familiar. It gets louder and louder. "Get down! Everybody, hide! Hide!"  Thomas pushes me underneath another slab of concrete, everyone else following. Just as we all hid, a large berg flies over with two helicopters on either side. We waited until we couldn't hear them anymore, before we crawl out from under.
