The bright rays of the sun shone through the blue curtains. A little boy lay in his bed, hugging his stuffed Nemo. Drool fell from his mouth and left a waterfall of saliva down his cheek and pooled on the pillow. His jet black hair curled up and down as it laid spiraled on the galaxy pillow case. The room was filled with toys scattered around the floor, toy boats and plastic staffs, nerf guns and foam swords littered the ground. The boy's muddy shoes sat by the door and his shirts and jackets hung from the drawers and closet.
"Shh! You'll wake him!" A mother said opening the door quietly letting herself and boy's father in as well.
"I'm sorry!" The father whispered behind the mother as they made their way to their son. The father smiled sweetly at his son remembering the past five years raising him. Although he wasn't there for most of it, he was there for his birthdays and Christmas and a few Halloween's. He had pictures from every time they saw each other, and the boys father treasured each and everyone of them. "Are you ready?"
"Three, two," The mother started before speaking "happy birthday!" with the father.
Waking up the child smiled and hugged his mother and father after saying thank you. The boys' father picked him up and took him to the bathroom to get him washed up. Aiding him with brushing his teeth and getting dressed and fixing his untidy yet untamable mess of black hair. The son held his hands out with the palms facing up saying "magic! Magic!" His father obeyed his sons wish and placed his hand under his four year old. Speaking a simple spell, he let the bright green swirls and orbs float out of his hands, seeping through his child's as if the child made his own magic. Amazement and wonder sparkled in his eyes as he looked upon the amazing sparkles around him and his father.
"Did you enjoy it Percy?" Percy's father smiled. Percy nodded his head quickly with a bright smile. "We best be going to the kitchen, I believe your mother has made breakfast already."
"Blue pancakes?!" Percy asked his father.
"We shall see," His father replied and walked behind his child as they made their way to the kitchen. "Sally, my love, is the young prince's morning feast prepared?" Percy's father announced as Percy ran to the kitchen table.
Smiling at her now five year old son, she proclaimed. "Loki my king, the prince's feast is prepared!" She placed a plate of two blue pancakes with chocolate milk in front of Percy who looked as if he just got the best present ever. "Two royal azure pancakes for the young prince." Sally handed a plate of pancakes to Loki. "And some for the king."
Loki smiles and kissed Sally, to which their son 'ewwed' at them. Sally and Loki sat on either side of Percy and began to eat their food. Percy told his mother about the magic spell Loki will teach him and how one day he's gonna do magic like his father. Loki smiles warmly at his son and ran his fingers through the soft jet black hair of his heir. Sally chuckled and asked for Percy to show her what he could do.
With a big smile, Percy rose from his chair and closer to his mother where he opened his hands. Palms facing upward to the sky and feet placed on the ground, like Loki taught him, he said a simple spell. Percy concentrated and put all his focus on the swirls and glowing orbs that should've came out of his hands, but all the showed was the beginning of a virdigris wisp. A small misty vine-like spiral extended out of Percy's hands. Then it was gone.
"You did it my child!" Loki picked Percy up in his arms. "You have done it!"
"But it didn't look like yours." Percy frowned.
"With practice, you will," Sally smiled and kissed her son's cheek. "Now get dressed, we're going somewhere."
"Ok!" Percy squirmed out of Loki's arms and ran to his room where he got dressed.
