"Shh, my child," A man quieted his crying five month old son. The baby's wails of displeasure echoed through the apartment. A woman lay sound asleep in her bed, unbeknownst of the child's father comforting her son. "You not need to cry, for I am here."

The man smiled softly at the baby. Jet black hair curled around the baby's developing head, it was the same as his fathers. And deep emerald eyes closed shut, with tears seeping out, were the exact same as the fathers as well. The moonlight shone through the window and lit up the room with a single ray, and the baby was able to see it's father. Saddened eyes gazed upon the smiling, godly figure holding it. The child extended it's tiny, chubby fingers towards it's fathers face and touched it's cheek. Wonder and amazement decorated the eyes of the baby as it's father created magic.

Bright green swirls and dots rippled and bounced to a silent song. It wove around the two as it danced. The magic extended from the palm of the father's hand, lighting the room up as well. A giggle escaped the child's mouth when a small fairy like glowing orb 'boped' the baby's nose. The father laughed as well.

"My child," The father said softly retracting the spell he created and looked at his son. "I am sorry for the troubles I will cause you when you're older. I wish not for the pain that I shall bring upon you as you age, for it is my fault you are different."

He turned his hand into the frost, icey blue that he was born with and caressed his son's face. Revealing the child's frost giant side. "I am sorry for making you a monster, but know that I will be by your side every time you wonder at the stars. When you ponder the existence of magic, I will be with you."

The baby boy in the man's arms looked curiously at his father, wondering why he was saying those words. Although the child didn't understand a word the man said, he babbled in the language that of a baby. "Pa..."

Excitement sparkled in the eyes of the father. Joy of his child's first words were that of him. Encouraging his son he repeated, "say papa, c'mon say papa."

The child smiled and touched his father's cheek once more, "Papa."

A bright smile etched its way into the man's face as he laughed and lifted his child to the heavens. His sons laughter echoed with every spin, it was truly a beautiful moment. A moment of a son recognizing his father. The one who will protect him, maybe not be there all the time to do so, but will be the invisible barrier that makes sure no harm will come.

Bringing his son closer to him, letting the baby sit on his arm. Making the child be face to face with his father, pure innocent eyes of emerald gazing into the same shade of green. The father brought his son closer, making their foreheads touch before saying,

"That is right Perseus, I am papa. It is me."
