"Are you ready for Halloween tonight?" Sally asked her son. She smiled at the toddler in the seat eating the bacon and eggs breakfast she made for him.Percy shook his head vigorously in excitement. Today was Halloween and his little brain was daydreaming about all the candy and treats he'll get. He was so excited to show everyone in his pre-k class what costume he wore. Of course he didn't tell the others, like the rest of the children in his class, he wanted them to wait and find out. And Percy was ecstatic because his father was coming home today.
"I finished." Percy pushed his plate forward and got off the chair. "Mommy can...can you help me put my costume on?" He stuttered pulling at Sally's shirt.
"Of course my sorcerer, but school doesn't start yet," she answered. "And daddy's coming home, don't you want to surprise him?" Percy nodded. "So, wait patiently okay?"
"Yes mommy," Percy smiled and ran off to play with his toys.
A half hour passed by and Sally walked to the living room to see her son on his stomach. His small hands held the hot-wheels as he moved them back and forth playing whatever game or story is going through his head. In one hand he had a blue mustang hot-wheel that was decorated in yellow flames and red nail polish (a story for another day), and in his other hand was a glittery green pickup truck. It seemed as if they got into a crash and the little army soldiers who were the owner of the cars had gotten into a fight.
"Percy, c'mon time to get dressed," sally called out from behind the couch. Percy looked up and smiled widely, he got up and started to make his way to his mother. "My love, what do we do with the toys that we play with?"
"Put them back?"
Sally nodded. "You're right! Go do that and then come to your room, I'll be waiting for you."
"Okay mommy!" Percy said and put back the toy cars and toy soldiers back in the toy box and ran to his room. His mother sat on his small bed and grabbed his costume from under it, where she hid it.

Percy waited outside with his class for his mother or father. He knew that his dad was home because Sally told him this morning, but if he was picking him up, Percy didn't know. So there he his, playing with his friend Luke pretending to be superheroes. Luke was a small boy for his age, just like Percy. With shinny blonde hair and soft baby blue eyes, the adults knew that he would be a charmer when he grew older. He was dressed like Thor, and together with Percy they ran around the playground saving the other children from monsters.
"Perseus, your dad is here," the teacher called to him.
"Daddy!" Percy gasped when he saw his father smiling at him from the school doors. "Bye Luke! Bye Mrs. Zolli!"
He grabbed his blue Nemo backpack and ran to his father. Loki smiled warmly at his son, he picked him up when he got closer and looked at his costume. Although he didn't show it, he was over joyed that his son wanted to dress up like him for the holiday. Percy looked like a smaller Loki, and Loki couldn't help but smile. He asked Percy if he had a good day and was surprised to hear that Percy didn't.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Loki asked.
"One of the older kids they, they broke my staff." Percy frowned. "He said that I looked stupid."
"My son, don't worry," Loki reassured Percy. "One day you're gonna be stronger than him and they'll be the one whose sorry."
"But what about my staff?"
"I'll fix it."
"With magic?!"
"Correct."
Percy smiled widely at the answer. He loved it when his father showed him his powers. The brilliant swirls of green that illuminated his face every time he saw it would never cease to lose its charm against the young child.
As they walked to their apartment, women commented on the costume that Percy wore. It wasn't a common outfit, and it wouldn't be found at stores for Sally and made everything herself. When the mothers and women whom saw Percy asked where he got his costume he'd reply, "my mommy made it! It looks just like my Daddy's!"
The women smiled and cooed at Percy and went on their way where ever they went.

An hour after dinner, Sally had said that it was time to go trick or treating. Percy jumped off his chair and ran to his room to get his bag. A fuzzy green Frankenstein bag was what his small hands held when he came running back. He grabbed his mother's hand and walked to the next door apartment. They didn't live in a neighborhood where they could leave to the apartment complexes next to them. On one side was a corner store that was most likely a front for it never had customers and that it was always open, and the otherwise was the frontage road next to the highway.
It wasn't that bad. There were other children in the building around Percy's age, so the people who love there decided to hand out candy for them. Some people were old and frail and sat him the doorway with a bowl of candy, others had a bowl outside with a 'take one please' sign on the door. Little kids and some middle schoolers walked up and down the halls, climbing up and down stairs in their costumes and candy filled parcels in hand.
Although it wasn't the traditional Halloween, it was one that Loki thought was his favorite. His small-for-his-age son walking around with the biggest smile in his face in his costume that looks like him was the best treat Loki could ever get this Halloween.
When they had returned home, Sally brought the chair and bowl from the outside back in and grabbed her Polaroid camera. Normally she would have her digital camera to take the pictures and then use the one simple spell she learned to send it to Loki, but the camera was broken and was currently being fixed. So she had the next best thing. Sally told Loki to change into his agrarian robes, like the one Percy was wearing, and to stand behind him. Doing as she said, Loki grabbed Percy's hands in his own and smiled at the camera.
The picture came out of the slip at the bottom. Loki took the picture and waited for it to develop and smiled sweetly when it did. He placed it in one of his pockets and grabbed Percy, he held him in one arm as he walked to the tired child bedroom where he got dressed in his pajamas and fell asleep.
