The chapters of The Books Between might be short. They're mainly filler chapters, their only purpose is to move things along and to fill gaps that are hard to work out in the actual chapters.
So just know that, although they are Important,they don't really affect the story as a whole.
They provide background info that without it could be hard to understand references throughout the book.
