Chapter 12

{Erin's POV}
I woke up in a strange room and started to panic but looked over at jay who was sleeping soundly next to me and started to relax, I placed my hand on his chest and he slowly started to wake up
E~ "sorry I didn't mean to wake you"
J~ " it's fine, what time is it?"
E~ " it's a little after 9"
J~ " you sleep good?"
E~ " yeah, did you?"
J~ " yes I did, I had you by my side"
E~ " good, where are we?"
J~ " were at the cabin"
E~ " sorry I didn't remember"
J~ " it's fine, I'm sure you were tired so you forgot"
get up and throw a pair of my shorts on and a shirt and walk into the living room to see Ryan watching tv with his son hunter
R~ " hey Erin"
E~ " hey Ryan"
H~ " who's she?"
R~ " she's Jay's girlfriend"
E~ " fiancé"
R~ " my bad" he said in a smartass tone
E~ " there's a kid in here so I'm not going to say what I want to"
H~ " you were going to tell my dad to stop talking weren't you?"
E~ " sureeee lets go with that" Jay walked out in his boxers
E~ " Jay go put your pants on, there's a kid here"
J~ " I'll be right back"
H~ " why was jay in his boxers?"
E~ " it's how he sleeps"
H~ " why?"
E~ " I don't know, he's always slept like that"
H~ " dad I'm hungry and board, can we go ice fish?"
R~ " I'm afraid the ice is to thin for that bud, but I'll make something to eat"
H~ " okay"
E~ " hey hunter, you wanna pick a game and we'll play it?"
H~ " you ever played hungry hippos?"
E~ " are you kidding i'm basically a pro at that game" hunter gets off the couch and runs to where the games are kept and grabs hungry hippos.
H~ " you can be the pink hippo"
E~ " okay" after many, many, many, rounds of hungry hippos and getting my ass kicked a lot, Ryan finished breakfast.
J~ " Ryan what are you burning now?"
R~ " shut up"
J~ " hey you, what are you up to?" 
E~ " you really wanna know?"
J~ " yeah"
E~ " hunter cover your ears( he covered his ears) I'm getting my ass kicked by a 9 year old" Jay started laughing
H~ " I beat Erin like 50 times"
J~ " wow! Fist bump"
E~ "  okay why don't we get some food, give the hippos a break"
H~ " okay!" Hunter ran to the table and started eating.
J~ " are you hungry?"
E~ " yeah" me and jay joined Ryan and hunter at the table and ate the breakfast Ryan made.
J~ " dang Ry this is good"
R~ " thank you"
H~ " Jay why are you and Erin here"
J~ " we thought we'd stay here with your dad for a little bit"
H~ " why?"
J~ " because a very very bad man wants to hurt Erin"
H~ " why, Erin's so nice" I lightly smile
J~ " see, we don't know Erin didn't ever know the guy"
H~ " ohhh, well me, Jay, and dad will protect you Erin"
E~ " thank you very much"
H~ " your very welcome" we started laughing.
R~ " so I've got to run to the store in a few, so hunter go get changed"
H~ " dad I wanna stay here with Jay and Erin"
R~ " well why don't you as Jay and Erin if you can stay"
H~ " can I stay with you guys, please, I promise I'll be good"
E~ " I don't see why not"
H~ " YAY!" 
R~ " thank you guys" Ryan leaves and Jay and hunter play hungry hippos while I clean up the kitchen
J~ " damnit"
E~ " Jay watch your mouth"
J~ " sorry, this kid is just kicking my butt"
H~ " Jay, we don't say the "D" word"
J~ " sorry hunter"
H~ " can we play a different game?"
J~ " of course! Why don't you go pick one"
H~ " okay!" Hunter runs to the closet, I feel arms around my 5 month belly
J~ " hello beautiful"
E~ " hello handsome"
J~ " I was thinking, why don't we wait to get married, I mean Jackson would get to be in the wedding, plus we'd have more time to plain"
E~ " I was think the same thing, I mean it'd mean a lot to have our son in our wedding"
J~ " so when do you wanna have it?"
E~ " what about December 21st? He could have a winter wedding"
J~ " perfect! I mean we just need to update everyone"
E~ " I'll go get my laptop and email everyone"
{Jay's POV}
I watch as Erin walks to our room in the cabin and I can't help but stare
H~ " okay I picked pie face, heads up I never get hit with the whipped cream"
J~ " oh your on kid" I grab the whipped cream out of the fridge, and Erin walks out
E~ " Jay Halstead theres a child here, no sir!"
J~ " the kid wants to play pie face chill"
E~ " okay"
H~ " what we're up two talking about"
J+E~ " Nothing"
H~ " okay"
J~ " let's go kid"
E~ " now this I've got to see" after three clicks I get hit in the face with the whipped cream
J~ " dang it" Erin started laughing
E~ " here let me try" Erin puts more whipped cream
E~ " double or nothing?" Erin puts more whipped cream on the little hand thing
H~ " heck yeah" after 4 clicks hunter get hit in the face
H~ " hey this stuff is pretty good" he licks the whipped cream off his face and me and Erin start laughing. After a little while Ryan comes back
R~ " I'm home"
H~ " hey dad"
R~ " what are you playing?"
H~ " well me and Erin were playing hungry hippos, then me and Jay played pie face, and now we're all playing go fish!"
R~ " sounds like you all had fun while I was gone"
J~ " we had a bunch of fun"
E~ " hey I'm gonna go lay down for a little bit"
J~ " you feeling okay?"
E~ " not really"
J~ " I'm gonna come with you, I've got to change anyways"
E~ " okay" I follow Erin to the bedroom
J~ " come here" I place the back of my hand carefully on her forehead
J~ " you feel warm"
E~ " I'm just tired that's all"
J~ " well why don't we both lay down"
E~ " fine" I lay down and Erin joins me and lays her head on my chest and slowly falls asleep, I start to get cold so I grab the blanket off of my side of the bed and cover us both, shortly after I slowly start to fall asleep and then hunter runs in
H~ " Jay, dad wants you" Erin shoots up in a panic
J~ " hey it's okay it's just hunter"
H~ " sorry"
E~ " it's okay"
J~ " I'll be right back" I get up and head to the kitchen where Ryan was
J~ " what do you want?"
R~ " I told hunter to ask you two if spaghetti was okay for dinner"
J~ " Erin doesn't really like spaghetti, since she's been pregnant the smell makes her wanna puke"
R~ " okay, what about homemade pizza?"
J~ " sure, I'm gonna go lay back down with Erin"
R~ " okay" I walk back in to the bedroom and don't see Erin so I check the bathroom and she's in there
J~ " hey you okay?"
E~ " yeah, no, I don't know"
J~ " hey what's going on?"
E~ " I'm scared Jay"
J~ " Er your safe here, I'm not going to let anything happen to you or our little boy"
E~ " I know, I'm just- ugh I'm so scared"
J~ " I know" I pull her into a hug
J~ " I promise I will NEVER let anyone hurt you or Jackson"
E~ " I know. And I trust you, which you know means a hell of a lot"
J~ " yeah we've defiantly gone threw a lot in the last 2 years, haven't we?"
E~ " yeah, we have. I don't know why I scared though, that's the problem"
J~ " well what do you have to be scared about?"
E~ "tony somehow finding us and more than anything I'm scared that I'm gonna lose you"
J~ " your never gonna lose me, ever, I'm here no matter what. I'm never leaving you I love you to much for that" 
E~ " I love you too"
J~ " lets go lay back down. I'm sure your tired"
E~ " yeah, Jackson's finally stoped trying to break my ribs" I lightly chuckle and we lay down on the bed, Erin's head resting on my chest and my hand resting on her 5 almost 6 month belly, and Er slowly start to fall asleep. After 2 hours my phone goes off and it's Ryan
* on the phone*
J~ " hey Ry what's up"
R~ " hey I'm taking hunter out back to shoot my  riffle, so if you two hear a gun go off it's just us"
J~ " okay thanks Ry"
* end of phone call*
I start to drift back to sleep when I feel Erin shaking, but she had a blanket on and was curled up next to me so I knew she wasn't cold
J~ " Er, baby" I gently shake her and she pops up almost Hitting me
J~ " Er you okay?"
E~ " yeah just a bad dream"
J~ " you were shaking"
E~ " babe I'm fine" she get up out of the bed and walks to the living room, I hear hunter shooting his gun and then Erin screaming so I run into the living room to see Erin curled up in the corner of the kitchen crying
J~ " baby, what's wrong!?"
E~ " Jay I think somebody's after us"
J~ " hey Er look at me it's just hunter and Ryan out back, hunter wanted to shoot ry's riffle so they went outside. Er I promise your safe here" I pull her into a hug
E~ " I just want tony caught so we can go home"
J~ " I know, it's okay"
E~ " Jay what if they never find him, what if-"
J~ " babe, hank will catch him. listen why don't you go soak in the bath and turn up the music so you can't hear Ryan and hunter"
E~ " that sounds like a good idea" Erin walks into the bedroom and I hear her music playing, I wait a few minuets and I call hank
* on the phone*
H~ "hey Halstead"
J~ " hey, do you have anything on tony yet?"
H~ " not yet, why?"
J~ " hank I don't know what's going on with Erin"
H~ " what do you mean?"
J~ " a few minuets ago Ryan, my older cousin, and his son hunter were shooting there guns and I heard Erin scream so I ran out, hank she was in the corner of the kitchen crying, that's not Erin, guns never bother her"
H~ " Jay she needs you more than ever right know, if she needs to bring her back home"
J~ " no! I'm not putting them in harms way"
H~ " would you rather Erin be safe but stressed, Jay if she's too stressed you'll lose Jackson. Or would you rather her be safe and not stressed, make a choice Halstead"
* end of phone call*
I walk into the bathroom and see Erin relaxing finally
J~ " hey"
E~ " hey"
J~ " what do you say to maybe staying at a hotel?"
E~ " are you sure?"
J~ " Er I know your extremely stressed, and I want to keep you two safe, but I can't do that if you don't feel safe"
E~ " in all honesty I'd rather stay at a hotel. Don't get me wrong I love it here, but I just don't feel safe here"
J~ " okay, let's start packing and we'll stay at a hotel" 
E~ " thank you"
J~ " Erin you mean more to me than anything, if you don't feel safe I'll take you some place where you feel safe" I walk over to the bathtub and lean down to give her a kiss and then walk out. After a few minuets Erin walks out
J~ " hey, I've gotten almost all your stuff packed"
E~ " okay thank you, what hotel are we staying at?"
J~ " umm how about best western?"
E~ " okay, here you pack your stuff, I'll finish mine"
J~ " I'm almost finished packing your stuff"
E~ " are you mad at me?"
J~ " no,why?"
E~ " you just act like your mad at me"
J~ " baby, I'm not mad. I just want to know what's going on, and I know you if I push you to hard you'll shut me out and I'm trying to avoid that"
E~ " Jay I'm sorry, I just, I just don't know how to talk about it"
J~ " talk about what?"
E~ " I'm terrified Jay, I know I have you but I'm scared and I don't know why" she started crying
J~ " hey, it's okay. It's okay to be scared, I am too"
E~ " but he didn't almost kill you, he didn't stab you, kidnap you, cut you, you have no reason to be scared"
J~ " Er you forget I almost lost you"
E~ " I know, and I was horrified of the thought that  I'd never see you again, that I'd never see your smile again, that I'd never lay my head next to yours, or that I'd never me able to hug you again" tears were streaming down her face breaking my heart
J~ " hey, it's okay(I pull her into a hug) I'm right here, and neither of us are going anywhere"
E~ " I just want to feel safe again"
J~ " hey, you know your safe with me right"
E~ " yeah, but when your gone who protects me? Nobody"
J~ " that's why I'm not leaving your side"
R~ " hey we're back!" He yells from the living room
J~ " I'm gonna go tell him we're leaving, I'll be right back" I walk out into the living room
R~ " hey"
J~ " hey, I'm me and Erin are going to stay at a hotel"
R~ " did me or hunter  do something?"
J~ " no,no,no. Erin just doesn't feel safe here, and I want her to feel safe"
R~ " okay, do you guys need help loading anything?"
J~ " nah we only brought two suitcases a piece, and I can load them"
R~ " alright" I walk back into the bedroom to see Erin packing my suit case
J~ " what are you doing"
E~ " oh I finished packing my stuff and started packing yours, I hope that's okay"
J~ " yeah, it's fine, here I'll finish for you"
E~ " okay, so um listen, I was hoping that, we could finish the nursery but that's not going to happen, so do you think we could buy stuff for it?"
J~ " of course maybe tomorrow we can do to baby's r us or something"
E~ " thank you"
J~ " hey, I want to do it. I had a crappy dad when I was little, so I'm gonna try to be the best dad Jackson can have"
E~ " I know your gonna be an amazing dad" she walks over and gives me a kiss. After a few minuets I'm done packing both bags
J~ " alright you ready?"
E~ " yup" we walk out and Ryan grabs Erin's suitcases and helps me put them in the car
E~ " thank you for letting is stay with you Ryan"
R~ " hey it's what family does for each other"
J~ " alright we better get going, see you Ry, by hunt"
H~ " bye Jay, bye Erin!"
E~ " bye buddy" we get in the car and head to the hotel. After a 45 minuets drive into town we finally get to best western and check in
E~ " this place is so beautiful!"
J~ " no kidding. You like it?"
E~ " yeah, I do, thank you."
J~ " Er-"
E~ " Jay I mean it, I was so close to having a panic attack, I needed to get out of that cabin"
J~ " Er why didn't you say something"
E~ " because I know how much you love the cabin"
J~ " Er I love the cabin, yes, but I want you to feel safe someplace"
E~ " I feel safe here with you, basically because there's more people" we both laugh
E~ " but in all honesty the moment I stepped into this place I felt relief, I felt, I felt like tony escaping  never happened"
J~ " really?"
E~ " yes, I know this is weird but I feel a lot safer when I'm in danger from somebody who tried to kill me in a hotel or something when though I'm a cop"
J~ " it doesn't sound weird at all"
E~ " really?"
J~ " yeah, I totally get it, when I was in the army I felt safer around a lot of people, good people"
E~ " exactly, you know almost everyone in Wisconsin, and you know they're good people"
J~ " yeah. Hey I'm gonna unpack"
E~ " and I'm gonna check out this bathtub" she laughed and walked to the bathroom, my phone rings and it's hank
J~ " hey babe, ima step outside I'll be right back"
E~ " okay make it quick"
J~ " okay"
* on the phone*
J~ " hey hank"
H~ " hey, good news"
J~ " what?"
H~ " we caught tony at you and Erin's place"
J~ " that's amazing" I felt arms wrap around my waist and a head lean on my back
J~ " okay I'll talk to you later"
* end of phone call*
E~ " who was that"
J~ " hank"
E~ " what did he want"
J~ " I'm they caught tony"
E~ " are you serious!" A smile formed on her face
J~ " yeah, we can go home tonight if you want"
E~ " why don't we stay here for a few days, and just relax"
J~ " I like that idea. Let me text hank" I text hank and tell him me and Erin are staying in Wisconsin for a few more days and we'll be home on Sunday.
E~ " I'm so glad we can just relax for a couple days, no worries or anything" we walk back inside
J~ " mhm me too"
E~ " oh my god the bed is so soft"
J~ " is it?"
E~ " yes come sit"
J~ " this feel like a damn cloud"
E~ " that's what I'm sayin"
J~ " let's see what's on the tv"
E~ " ooo blue bloods is on"
J~ " you wanna watch it?"
E~ " sure" I turn the tv on, close the blinds, lay down and Erin curls up to me and rests her head on my chest and we watch tv eventually falling asleep
