Chapter 11

{Jay's POV}
I woke up and went to wrap my arm around Erin but she wasn't there, I get up and head to the kitchen and see a note from Erin ' hey babe went to get some things for tonight, XOXO Erin' since Erin was gone I decided to do some cleaning for her. I cleaned the dishes, the living room, our room, and did a couple things in the baby's room. After I finished I sat on the couch and watched the cubs game from last night. Erin came home shortly after the game was over
E~ "hey baby I'm home!"
J~ " here let me help you" she handed me a few bags
E~ " wow jay this looks really good!"
J~ " thanks, I figured I'd help you out a little"
E~ " your so sweet!" She gave me a quick kiss
E~ " listen, we need to come up with names for this little guy"
J~ " mmm what about Derek?"
E~ "nah, mark?"
J~ " nah, oh I've got it what about Jackson?"
E~ " that's perfect! Now what about a middle name?"
J~ " hmmm.. what about Norbert?"
E~ " umm no, babe he'd get picked on by the big kids on the play ground"
J~ " not after he tells them how badass his daddy is"
E~ " what about Avery??"
J~ " ohh that's perfect. Jackson Avery Halstead"
E~ " that sounds amazing! Almost like your name Mr. Jay Alexander Halstead"
J~ " hey I love your name too, Miss Erin Sophia Lindsay"
E~ " Hey, hey, hey, soon it'll be Mrs. Erin Sophia Halstead"
J~ " oh my god I can't want for that day"
E~ " me either, only 25 more days until we say 'I Do'!"
J~ " I cant wait until I can call you mine forever"
E~ " I don't think I could wait any longer"
J~ " you'll have to" I started to walk away but she grabbed me
E~ " where the hell are you going, get your sexy ass back here"
J~ " oh, now I'm sexy"
E~ " you've always been sexy"
J~ " mm-hmn"
E~ " shut up and kiss me" she leaned up and kissed me
J~ " oh my god I love your kisses"
E~ " well in 25 days you'll have them forever"
J~ " I'm so lucky to have you" Erin phone went off
E~ " UGHHHHH, it's hank, he needs us"
J~ " UGH, do we have to" her phone went off again
E~ " hank says we have to. And he knows I read the texts" I get dressed and we head to the 21st
P~ " Erin! I haven't seen you since you told us you were pregnant"
E~ " platt I'm here everyday"
P~ " well you know I don't pay attention"
E~ " well we've got to get upstairs" me and Erin walk up the stairs and Erin stumbles and luckily I was behind her so I was able to catch her
J~ " you okay?"
E~ " yeah I'm fine" we get up stairs and nobody is up here except hank
J~ " hank what's up?"
H~ " you two get in here"
E~ " hank what's wrong"
H~ " Thomas Harper escaped prison"
J~ " what!"
E~ " who is that?"
J~ " tony"
E~ " WHAT!"
H~ " Erin calm down"
E~ " IM NOT GOING TO CALM DOWN THE MAN THAT ALMOST KILLED ME IS ON THE LOSE!"
J~ " babe, please calm down"
E~ " I need a minuet" she walks out and into the locker room
J~ " hank we've got to catch him, and when we do I'm personally throwing him in the cage"
H~ " Jay you know you cannot work this case"
J~ " the hell if I can't"
H~ " Jay"
J~ " fine but me and Erin are leaving Chicago"
H~ " where are you two going?"
J~ " Wisconsin, my family has a cabin up there and it's empty right now, hank I'm taking them there end of discussion"
H~ " Jay, I wasn't going to argue with you, she's your girlfriend carrying your child, you know what's best for them"
J~ " you must be really scared because normally you would've punched the shit out of me for talking to you like that"
H~ " Jay I'm Erin's father, I haven't always agreed with you two dating but I trust that you know what's best to keep them safe"
J~ " thanks hank" I walk out and into the locker room
E~ " hey"
J~ " hey"
E~ " Jay I'm really scared" I sit down next to her
J~ " I know I am to, listen why don't we go to Wisconsin"
E~ " you mean to your family's cabin, doesn't your cousin live in that?"
J~ " yeah but he told me if I ever needed anything to come down"
E~ " okay, just promise me one thing"
J~ " of course"
E~ " I mean it"
J~ " I can't promise if I don't hear what I'm promising about"
E~ " promise me you won't leave my side no matter what, not even to go check the mail"
J~ " I promise" she leaned her head on my shoulder
J~ " let's go home and pack"
E~ " okay" me and Erin get home and start packing when there was a knock at the door I went to get it
J~ " hey kev"
K~ " where's Lindsay?"
J~ " she's packing"
K~ " you two leaving?"
J~ " yeah we're going to stay with my cousin in Wisconsin until tony is found"
K~ " yeah, yeah, that's smart"
J~ " what did you need"
K~ " well I've got something to ask Erin, but I can wait"
J~ " Kevin come in"
K~ " thanks" I go and get Erin
E~ " hey kev"
K~ " there's my favorite girl"
E~ " what's going on?"
K~ " what do you mean?"
E~ " do not play dumb with me! I've known you for 4 years I know when something's up"
K~ " okay hank sent me to take you and Halstead to Wisconsin"
J~ " I can drive"
K~ " see that's what I told hank, but he said either I drive or he's going to kick my ass"
E~ " Kevin your not coming with us. End of discussion"
K~ " alright"
J~ " here" I toss him the keys to the house
J~ " look after the place while we're gone"
K~ " okay" me and Erin finish up packing and head out. After a hour of driving I look over and see Erin sleeping, I place my hand on hers and she jumps awake
J~ " hey, easy"
E~ " sorry, you just startled me"
J~ " it's okay, how's my little buddy doing"
E~ " well right now he's having fun trying to break my ribs"
J~ " Jackson don't break your mommy's ribs" she grabs my hand and place's it on her belly
J~ " wow, he's going to be one hell of a soccer player"
E~ " yeah no kidding" she chuckles
J~ " why don't you try to go back to sleep we've got another hour and a half until we get there and I'm sure your tired"
E~ " okay" she slowly doses back to sleep while holding my hand. After a hour and a half we finally reach the cabin
J~ " hey Er wake up, we're here"
E~ " okay" She unbuckles her seatbelt and grabs her bag, I knock on the door and Ryan opens it
R~ " Jay what's going on?"
J~ " Ryan I need the biggest favor I could ever ask from you"
R~ " what's up?"
J~ " the guy that kidnapped and almost killed Erin escaped prison and I wanted to take her someplace safe, you know somewhere NOBODY knows about"
R~ " Jay as I said you and Erin are welcome anytime. Now get out of that cold"
J~ " thank you so much, I literally owe you big time"
R~ " hey I'd do anything for you two, hey Erin I haven't see you since the Christmas party!"
E~ " hey Ryan!" Ryan gave her a hug
R~ " do how's my great cousin doing?"
E~ " he's doing great"
R~ " your having a boy! Congratulations!"
J~ " thanks"
R~ " have you picked a name yet?"
E~ " yeah we chose Jackson Avery Halstead"
R~ " good name"
J~ " yeah we thought so"
R~ " well I'm almost done with lunch if you guys are hungry"
E~ " food sounds good"
J~ " what did you make Ry?"
R~ " I made chicken and dumplings"
J~ " sounds good"
R~ " help yourselves"
E~ " hey Jay if it's alright I'm going to lay down, I'm not feeling good"
R~ " here I'll show you, you twos room" Ryan takes Erin to the other master room and helps her carry the bags. After a few minuets Ryan walks back out
R~ " so um I probably shouldn't ask this but why didn't you go to your mom and dads place?"
J~ " you know my dad doesn't like Erin, and it'd be weird having dad constantly giving Erin to death stare"
R~ " true, sorry I asked"
J~ " nah it's fine, but like I said thank you. I know we don't always agree on things but I really appreciate you looking out for me and Erin"
R~ " Jay your my baby cousin and Erin is going to be my cousin to, I'd do anything for you two"
J~ " now where the hell is that food you were talking about? I'm starving" Ryan walks into the kitchen and fixes us a bowl of chicken and dumplings
J~ " thanks, I've been so worried about Erin and Jackson I forgot to eat"
R~ " well you need to eat, Erin can't have you passing out from starvation, she needs you"
J~ " yeah I know"
R~ " so are you excited about becoming a dad?"
J~ " of course! I mean Erin's probably more excited than I am, but I'm really excited"
R~ " good I remember when hunter was born, best day of my life"
J~ " really?"
R~ " yeah, once you hold a child you and the love of your life brought into this world there's nothing better"
J~ " I just scared I'll mess something up, I want to be the best dad Jackson can have"
R~ " Jay your going to mess up, it's part of learning. But once you get everything down pat you know, you know when he's hungry, you know when he needs a change, you- you just know"
J~ " thanks ry"
R~ " hey you know I'm just a phone call away, when Jackson is born call me if you two need anything"
J~ " trust me I will"
R~ " so how are you and Erin doing?"
J~ " we're going great!"
R~ " good, because people want what you two have"
J~ " what do you mean?"
R~ " you and Erin, you work together, and you both do the exact same job, and you two are amazing! You almost never argue, and you can tell how much you love each other"
J~ " I never noticed that, and we see things differently sure, but I agree with a lot of the things she says, we get along so well because we both had crappy childhoods, and I try not to argue with her because I know in the end she'll more than likely win, but I have a say in a lot of things too"
R~ " maybe I need to take relationship advice from you" we started laughing.
J~ " this is really good"
R~ " thanks your mom taught me how to make it"
J~ " wow"
R~ " I'll leave some for Erin, I'm sure she'll be hungry"
J~ " yeah she haven't eaten since last night"
R~ " why don't you go wake her up it's not good for to not eat"
J~ " yeah your right" I go to wake Erin up and she's thrashing around in the bed
E~ " no, no back up! JAY!" She quickly sits up in the bed
J~ "Er I'm right here baby" I sit down next to her and she hugs me
E~ " I'm so scared"
J~ " I know, I am too. But I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere"
E~ " thank you"
J~ " why don't we get you something to eat? Ryan made chicken and dumplings earlier and I can reheat it for you"
E~ " thank you, it sounds amazing"
J~ " come on" I get off the bed and help Erin off the bed too
R~ " there she is"
E~ " hey Ry"
R~ " you feelin' okay?"
E~ " yeah, I've just been stressed lately, and it's probably caught up to me"
R~ " well you better get unstressed, hey! I know a wa-"
J~ "Ryan!"
R~ " sorry" Erin rolls her eyes
J~ " Keep it PG dude"
R~ " sorry, had to say it"
E~ " now where's this food you were talking about, Jay"
J~ " right here" I hand her the bowl with her food in it
E~ " oh my god, this is the best thing ever!"
R~ " thank you"
E~ " I need to learn how to cook this"
R~ " I'll reach you one time"
E~ " I'd probably burn it"
R~ " you can't burn this trust me I've tried"  we all started laughing
J~ " I don't know about that, Erin's burnt a pizza while heating it up"
E~ " shut up! That was one time Halstead"
J~ " okay"
E~ " what time is it?"
J~ " 10:30"
E~ " damnit, I was suppose to call hank at 8"
J~ " yeah he called me, he wanted to know if you were okay, I told him you were fine and everything's perfect"
E~ " okay, thank you, umm I'm gonna get a shower real quick, I'll be right back"
R~ " don't use all the hot water"
E~ " kiss my ass" Ryan gives me a look
J~ " don't you dare" he quickly throws his hands up in defense
R~ " my bad, you wanna watch the bears game?"
J~ " dude it's like 11pm I gotta get to bed"
R~ " okay, so do I, oh um Emily should be dropping hunter off in the morning around 8:30"
J~ " okay, me and Erin will probably still be asleep"
R~ " alright, I'll see you in the morning" I walk into me and Erin's room and she's just coming out of the bathroom taking her hair out of the messy bun she had it in and she's wearing one of my old army tee shirts.
E~ " you ready for bed?"
J~ " yeah" I take off my shirt and slip into my shorts
E~ " how are you not cold?"
J~ " because I know I have you to warm up to"
E~ " aweee, your so sweet"
J~ " come on let's get to bed" Erin crawls into the bed and snuggles up to me and I feel her slowly drifting off to sleep, shortly after she falls asleep so do I
