I hurried to pack my backpack and head straight to the airport the next day. I would get there by about three when the show starts at seven. The moment I landed in Portland, I realized that I never told my mom that I was coming. I gave her a quick call and ended up sitting at the airport for even longer waiting for her to pick me up.
I saw her car pull up and I hurried to give her a tight hug.
"I missed you, sweetie." She said as she rubbed my back. I couldn't imagine her living in our old house by herself every day. I wouldn't be able to survive without feeling alone all the time.
"I missed you too," I Said back to her.
We got home and I pulled out my car that's been sitting in the garage since I left.
"I will be back tonight!" I told Mom before leaving the house.
"Love you! Have fun!"She Yelled.
"Love you too!" And I was out the door and heading back to downtown Portland. It was about 5 in the evening once I pulled up to the venue. There were lines and crowds of girl everywhere. And parking was worse. I knew it was going to be bad at the start. I parked blocks away and began my walk to the venue. It was still early and right now all the VIP was here and well... I got nothing. I was hoping to find someone I knew that could just let me in, but I found zero luck.
"Crap," I told myself as the whole VIP line began to walk in. I looked around and found a door on the side of the building. I opened it and it leads to a hallway of some sort. Any of these doors could lead me inside. I tested all of them and a couple was unlocked. Soon a door to my right opened to a staircase. I could hear music playing louder when I opened the door so I knew this had to lead somewhere. I ran up the stairs and I found myself on the second level where the show was going to be held. The VIP people were just barely heading up the stairs and I panicked about being seen by some security dude or whatever cause I looked like an ordinary "fan."
I ran into the bathroom and locked myself in a stall until it was closer to show time.
The time came and I slowly walked out and slid past people. No one noticed and I moved my way very close to the front like a ninja.
The show started and all the boys came out in "order"... Daniel being last. I watched him sing the whole show. Oh, what did I do to this boy? I knew a sad smile when I see it. He wasn't in the best mood...
I watched as his eyes trailed off and soon... our eyes locked in place. He held his obvious stare at me and I managed to show him a smile. He had no reaction to respond but he almost forgot to sing his part.
Now he knew I was here...
The whole show he would look for me, but I guess he lost me in the sea of screaming girls. I would sing along and do their hand commands and overall had a great time. Once it ended everyone chanted out "Why Don't We!" until they came back out and they said they will sing another song.
Once the song ended... Daniel has something to say "Aleea... I know you are here tonight. I would just like you to know that I... I miss you." he said through the mic. I smiled and the girls around me looked at me and soon everyone basically everyone did. Even Daniel.
He gave me a relived looked. "Let's do another!" said Jonah as he gave me a wink and they began to sing. I still felt most of the stares on me, but I kept my attention towards the band. I felt pressured and felt like I was being watched by owls. I didn't like that feeling, so I left near the end of the song. I walked out of the building from the way I entered and noticed that the door out, was locked. There must be only a lock outside. I huffed and turned around to get back up the stairs and through the front. I walked out to... crowds of girls?! That was quick!
Everyone stared at me and I was quick to start walking back to my car down the street. Well... great. I kept going until I bumped into someone.
"I am so sorry," I told the man who was actually... Jack.
"Shhhhh." Said, Jack, as he put a finger to my lips and lead me around a corner.
"What are you doing way over here?" I asked him.
"And what are you doing leaving here without saying anything to Daniel?" Asked Jack.
"It's... it's complicated." I Said as I slowly step away.
"Mind... telling me?" Asked Jack as he placed his arm on my shoulder.
"Surprised he hasn't told you yet," I told him.
"Told me what?" Asked Jack.
"Hmmm well let me just say this... we never talked to each other for two months and I went flying up here to surprise him but I felt overwhelmed with the stares and I think it's best if I just leave..."
And I walked away. Sorry, Jack.
Sorry, Daniel...
"Do you think we will ever talk again?" I Asked my mom as she was making dinner in the kitchen as I sat on one of the bar stools, watching her.
"Of course, honey... just... I guess you two need time." Responded my mom.
"Okay... I wonder how much longer" I Said before walking upstairs and into my old bedroom.
I flopped onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. I regret everything...
"Then we would've never found each other again."
I sat up and looked to see Daniel leaning against my doorway.
"I am so sorry," I said as I ran up to him and forced him into a hug.
"Shhh... it's okay." He Said as he rubbed my back up and down.
"I should've never lied to you... never left you," I Said as I began to get watery eyes.
"Don't worry about that..." Said, Daniel, as he held me tighter.
"Dinner is ready."
I came back to reality where I was still staring at my ceiling and my mom was in my doorway.
"Okay," I Said...
That was weird... it made me think more about me lying about my identity... I could lose Daniel... forever.
