The Days didn't start so simple...
Always a different thought going through my mind after the night before. The same things consist of me being woken up by my alarm, refusing to get out of bed, getting ready for the day, and... Well whatever is going on that day.
Today, is graduation. I instant knots in my stomach. Nervous to graduate? No! Get me out of High School, please. I was nervous about the future ahead.
I headed downstairs and into the kitchen to have breakfast.
"Good morning graduate!" Said my mom as she handed me a plate of bacon, eggs, and vegetables.
"Thanks Mom." I Said with a smile as I accepted the meal and placed it on the kitchen table to eat.
"Daniel is back in town." Said my mom as she sat next to me with her plate of food.
"What? Really? When? I thought he wasn't able to come home for graduation!" I Said as my excitement level rose.
"His Mom called this morning to let me know." Responded my Mom with a huge smile.
I haven't seen Daniel in a year! We are still close friends and we talk, but we haven't seen each other in person for so long!
"Woah... that boosted my energy." I said as I continued to finish my breakfast.
Once I finished Breakfast, I headed up to my room to start getting ready for this evening. Girls take time!
I took a warm, long shower and got dressed in a casual outfit. Black leggings, a grey cropped cami, and my white slip on Vans. No heels today, honey.
I decided to straighten my hair after admiring the brown lock of hair on top of my head. And you should know what's next... makeup. Again casual, everyday makeup. Who's there to impress anyway? Oh, shoot. Daniel. That's who I want to impress.
Daniel and I have been best friends since... Well Kindergarten. We grew up very close to each other since our parents were close friends with each other.
As we grew up and Daniel and I matured. I started to have a crush on him during Freshman year. I didn't tell anyone and give any clue because I knew it was going to ruin our friendship somehow. Till this day, I still have a crush on him. Who wouldn't? He is beyond perfect.
I came back from my thoughts and decided that... I should just be myself. I am always myself around him.
Let's fast forward...
I got into my mom's car. In the back seat since my dad got back from work on time. We drove to the auditorium and I was still head to toe, nervous. Daniel kept going through my mind. What will he think? What will he say? What will he do?
I was awoken by my thought from the sound of my parents doors opening. We were here. I hopped out of the car with my legs shaking a bit. I carried my phone and grabbed my gown and cap before entering the building with my parents.
There was a refreshing breeze once we entered the huge building. Little patches of people gathered in groups. I didn't have any close friends except for Daniel. He left and I was left with friends... but not close friends.
I looked around with hopes of spotting Daniel... nothing.
I stuck my phone in the front of my leggings and grabbed my gown and put it on as a jacket. I decided to hold onto my cap until the later.
"Wanna cookie?" Asked... well I knew who it was.
"Daniel!" I Said as I turned around and we pulled each other into a strong hug. Back in his arms.
"Hey Aleea... How have you been?" Asked Daniel as we were still hugging and he swayed me side to side.
"Been doing better once I saw you." I Said still stuck in his presence.
"Still want a cookie?" Asked Daniel with one of his hands on my waist as we let go and looked into each other's eyes.
"Of course." I Said as I took the red velvet cookie from his hand. We smiled at each other before Daniel's Mom got our attention and took a picture of the both of us. I giggled as Keri looked so happy to see us together again.
"Ready to graduate?" Asked Daniel.
"Heck ya."
And so we did. We graduated from High School and we were opened to the real world. As I soon as I walked across that stage, I felt grown up. Ready for the obsical ahead... or was I?
Daniel left two days later and we talked back and forth for awhile. We would tell each other what we want for the future and where we were going. Daniel told me about his musical success with his band and that he couldn't wait to see what was next. I couldn't wait either. I wanted to see where and how far he will go.
And I watched him grow. Grow bigger everyday. One day I texted him to congratulate him, but the only response I got back was...
"I am sorry, who is this?"
