A Few Days Later-
Adam's Birthday
November 25
Adam's POV
After, spending all day working yesterday, I woke up finally feeling somewhat rested. I got up and walked through my apartment. "Aaliyah?" I called out. I looked into the bathroom and the guest room. When I walked into the kitchen, there was a note on the counter with a cupcake. I picked up the small sheet of paper and read Aaliyah's fine cursive writing:
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Love, Aaliyah, Gloria&Alfonzo
P.S: We stole your chips.❤
I smiled at the note and shook my head. She must've snuck in this morning. Man, Aaliyah and our unborn twins could always put a smile on my face, even on my worst days. I took a shower, and put on a black thermal shirt, some camouflage pants and my Gamma 11s, then I threw on a jean jacket on top.
It was my birthday and for the first time I had nothing to do. Aaliyah was in school, Rico was probably high, and I really didn't want to associate with anyone else right now. After driving around for a while, I gave up and drove to Choochi's & Rico's house. I walked inside the house, not bothering to knock and Choochi was walking around the house, in just a black bra and g-string. I looked away quickly after getting a short look.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, pulling on a pair of Rico's red sweat pants and a varsity bomber jacket. "Today's kinda my birthday, and I had nothing else to do, where's Rico?" I answered. She shrugged her shoulders. "Somewhere."
I chuckled. "Rico never could stay put, so what are you about to go do now?" She looked around and picked up a basketball. "Since neither of us have anything to do, how about the best 2-out-of-3 for old times sake?" I smiled mischievously. "Alright, loser buys the winner dinner." "Deal" she scoffed. We went out onto the cracked basketball court and I threw the ball to her. In the cold air, we were planning basketball, it wasn't the best idea, but it was the cheapest.
How much money did I make this month? 800+40-
"Earth to Rodriguez?" I looked at Choochi, snapping myself out of my thoughts. "I'll let you get the ball first, shortie." She opened her mouth like she was appalled. "So we got got jokes now do we?" "Yeah, what'cha going to do about Carmencita?" Choochi couldn't stand when people used her first name. She dashed at the hoop dribbling the ball quick, but I stole the ball away and shot a 3-pointer. I kept stealing the ball and dunking or shooting the ball into the hoop.
"Come on girly, you got to be quicker than that" I said, juking her and dunking the ball. "Oh shut up." Choochi got possession of the ball, but dropped the it in the middle if dribbling. We laid on the ground, fighting for dominance of the ball. I finally gave up and let Choochi have it. Her legs were wrapped around my waist, straddling me. God, what if someone sees us?'
Choochi laughed and climbed off of my torso. "Not too bad Rodriguez." I stood up. "Thanks." "You want to get a drink before you go?" One little drink couldn't hurt. I followed her back to the house. "Do I get a free dinner with it?" She looked back at me while unlocking the door and let out a little laugh. "Sure, I have to tell Rico we're leaving first." I sat down at the kitchen counter. "Damn, Rico need to know where you are at all times." "Well, I chose to be with him, so I guess its what I get." "Choochi, Rico wasn't the only option for you. You're an amazing girl, you don't need to stay in a relationship with Rico if you don't want to." "Rico and I are just fuck buddies. Not anything serious. Rico couldn't stay faithful if he tried" she explained. I looked at her. "But don't you want more than that?"
She looked at me and bit her lip.
"Adam? You remember how we went together for a few days in Jr. High?" I sat up a little, why was that important now? "Yeah?" She twisted her bronze ring around on her finger.
"Adam..I want you."
I stood up. I didn't want to be one of those guys to cheat, 'cause some girl claimed they love them. Aaliyah wouldn't give me the time of day if I proved to be just like her ex's. "I know I shouldn't have told you.." she frowned, turning away.
"Choochi-" She stood up. "It's just not fair sometimes how Aaliyah gets you, and I'm stuck with Rico." She leaned over the counter.
Our eyes locked and she pulled my face down towards her, and our lips barely touching in a light peck. She began to deepen the kiss, but I pulled away. I had to stop myself now, before I did anything stupid.
"Choochi, stop." Tears sparkled in her large brown eyes. She reminded me of Aaliyah. A girl that was heartbroken and lost.
"Hey, Choo" Rico slurred from the living room. I walked past a drunk Rico in the living room, and headed home.
My POV
Adam walked into the apartment, his eyes widening as he saw me in my lace lingerie set. "I know I have to look silly right now" I admitted. "No, babe, you look amazing.." He breathed. Adam leaned down and began to kiss my neck. "Happy birthday." "Mhmm, happy birthday to me.." Adam walked into bedroom close behind me.
"You're tense" I noticed. He either didn't hear me or ignored my words; I'll go with the second option.
I pushed him onto the bed and climbed over top of him. I had never been on top before, but due to the pressure on my back I had to. All I wanted to do was please Adam for his birthday like he did to me. Adam rubbed my leg. "Boo, you alright?" I nodded. "I've just never been on top before." Adam looked at me with confusion. "I just want to make you feel good."
Adam caressed my thighs. "If you don't want to-" "I want to, just bare with me, I haven't learned how to move around like I use to with these babies" I grinned, taking off his jacket.
