"Mr. Lifshitz, I'm such a big fan" I added. Famous designer, Ralph Lauren was standing right in front of me. "You are an inspiration too, my dear." Adam walked over carrying Priscilla, shaking Mr. Lifshitz's head as he passed. "This must be your boyfriend" Mr. Lifshitz inquired. "No sir, we're just friends" I corrected. Were we just friends? "And who is this cute girl here?" he asked, referring to Priscilla. "This is my sister, Priscilla, she hasn't been feeling so good today" Adam explained. "Well I hope you feel better" he told Priscilla. "It was such an honor to meet you Mr. Lifshitz but we better be getting back" I told him. We would have to drop Priscilla off soon, no later than nine o'clock.
On the way out everyone congragulated me being one of the five students who had their work in the Mercedes-Benz show. We got into the taxi and got to the foster home on time. Adam and I went up to the door and rang the bell. A tall, scrawny man come up to the door. He must be Mr. Hughes, the foster dad. "Priscilla, did you have fun?" She looked away from him almost as if she was scared. The wheels began to turn in my head. "You can go help her get ready for bed." Adam let Priscilla get down and I took her upstairs to her bedroom. I'd never been in her room before. She led me through the dark hallways to a room. She opened the door to a crisp, clean room, nothing out of order. It looked nothing like a child's bedroom, it looked like a military sergeant's room.
I helped Priscilla get undressed and got her in bed. "You okay?" I asked her. She nodded. I handed her, her favorite doll, she tucked it into her arms protectively. "Aaliyah do you love Adam?" I was taken back. "Yes, we're friends" I replied. The door opened and Adam walked into the room. "Hey, Priscilla. You feeling better?" he asked. She shrugged her shoulders. "Priscilla has school tomorrow so Mr. Hughes wanted us to be quick." I gave Priscilla a hug. "Sleep good alright? I'll be back to see you tomorrow" I told her. "Me too" Adam added, kissing her forehead.

I took off my earrings and laid them on Adam's dresser. "That guy seems weird if you ask me" I continued, ranting about Mr. Hughes. Adam brushed it off, and told me it was just my imagination but I just couldn't shake the feeling. "Aaliyah" Adam called from his spot in the living room. I walked to where he was. "We need to talk." I sat down on the couch next to him. "About what?"
"Us."
"Adam, I-" "Aaliyah, I want to be with you. We've been acting like a couple at times, kissing each other and I know you enjoy it." "You don't know what I enjoy, you are not me" I replied, stubbornly. He reached over to me, pulling me closer to him on the couch. "You know what I mean." And he was right. I nodded softly, not making eye contact with him. "Yeah, I know" I sighed.
"So will you be my girlfriend?" I nodded. "Yes, Adam. I'll be your girlfriend" I smiled. He grinned brightly, and pulled me into his lap. "Someone is excited" I grinned. "Yes, because now you're all mine." I leaned down and kissed his lips, his grip tightening on my waist. "Adam stop, I gotta change." His eyes wandered slightly to my chest, which was showing a lot due to the low neck. He let me go hesitantly and I went and changed into some on his sweatpants and a t-shirt. I put my hair up into a bun. I went back onto the couch and laid next to Adam. He pulled a blanket over us and we watched some tv before falling asleep.
