Four Months Later

"Adam" I called. Adam stepped into the bedroom where I sat with Lyra, who laid next to me in bed eating some grapes. "Yeah, babe?" "Pass me some ginger ale?" He disappeared, and then reappeared with a glass of cold, ginger ale. "Thank you." He sat watched me drink. "Are you feeling any better?" "I feel sick still" I told him, "but there's not much we can do about that is there?" He gave a half smile. "Not until they get here." He gave my forehead a light peck, before heading back to the kitchen to focus on finishing dinner.
"Girl, I feel so bad on you, staying in this bed all day" Lyra added. I nodded. I felt awful. Being on bedrest was awful, but having to withdraw for the semester was even worse. Now I was stuck in the house with nothing to do but watch tv. "These kids are coming any day now" I reminded her, "And if they don't come soon, my doctor is inducing labor." She rubbed my shoulder, "At least you'll be off of this stupid bedrest then." "Aye! My favorite duo!" Chaney said coming into the room, followed by the rest of the guys. We made space for them as they sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Hey guys" we both greeted. "What have y'all been up to?" I asked them. "Same shit, different toilet. You know we had to come all the way from the hood to see you." I rolled my eyes. "You guys say that everytime you see me, I only moved twenty minutes away" I laughed. "Good thing you did because those cramped apartments are not for no babies" Levi added.
After New Years, the home that Adam and I had been eyeing for months finally became ours. I spent no time decorating the nursery. Surprisingly, moving proved to be great for us. We were finally in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and Adam had finally found a pretty stable job as a warehouse worker, earning twenty dollars an hour. Everything was finally falling into place, and I was more than ready to meet Alfonzo and Gloria. But they were taking their sweet time getting here.
After a few minutes, Adam came back with some spanish chicken, rice, and asparagus. My mouth began to water at the delicous food as Adam handed me my over-the-bed-table, so I could eat. "There's some more if y'all want some" he told the boys.

Third Person POV

All the guys filed out, ready to eat some good home  cooking. "Adam." Adam looked back to see Rico, who had stopped in the hallway. "Help yourself. Y'all know where the plates are" Adam told the crew. "I need you to meet me tomorrow night under the bridge, so I can get the rest of the stuff to you." Adam nodded hesitantly. Having this side hustle was working out great for him. He had more business than ever where he lived now. But the more business he got, the riskier the job became. "Okay, mane, I got you." "Everything good?" Rico asked. "Yeah" Adam lied, just ready for the kids to get here already." Rico laughed.

"They'll be here soon enough. Let's go eat"
