A Week Later
My POV
"Aaliyah..." James moaned against my ear, thrusts fast enough to please me, even late in my pregnancy. I groaned at his full length inside me. Damn. A warm sensation filled my stomach and James sloppily ended. He pulled out and laid happily next to me. He kissed my cheek. "Love you."
I opened my eyes, seeing nothing but darkness. Adam was sleep. Why am I having dreams of James? I tossed and turned, trying to go go back to sleep. But the babies were wide awake, and kicked and moved all about, adding my hunger onto that made it nearly impossible to dose. I thought about waking Adam up, but he was dead tired last night. So I got out of bed and put on some clothes. Grabbing the car keys off the rack, I went to clear my mind, and put some food in my stomach.

Adam's POV
My eyes fluttered open, and I stretched out, reaching for Aaliyah's body. Next to me was nothing but a cold spot. "Aaliyah?" I sat up. "Babe?"
Nothing but silence.
I jumped up pulling on my sweatpants. The entire apartment was silent. I threw on a hoodie, and went to grab the car keys. They were nowhere in sight, neither was Aaliyah. "Shit.." I muttered to myself. Deep breaths I reminded. The sudden opening of the door made me snap my neck around.
"Hey" Aaliyah greeted, hands full of Mexican takeout.
"Aaliyah, where were you?!" "I went out to get something to eat.." she answered, putting the food in the fridge, then waddled into the living room. I could hear her sniffling from the other room. She sat on the couch, reaching down to untie her boots, struggling in the progress. I crouched down and took them off her feet. "Thanks."
"Next time you want something wake me up." She sighed. "But-"
My POV
"No buts, anytime you want something get me. I don't want you being out." "You were dead tired when you came home so I didn't want to wake you up." "I would rather go out at one in the morning, than risk you getting hurt!" he snapped, "Baby, you're five, almost six months pregnant trying to walk around New York City alone!" I huffed out a big breath. "Aaliyah-"
"Fine! I won't do it again!" I snapped, walking off.
"Aaliyah, I just don't want you getting hurt." I instantly felt bad for going off on him. "I know. I just needed to clear my mind" I explained going to stand at the glass slide door. I looked out to the city. Many lights still on. I went back to my bedroom, Adam following behind. "Was this another dream?" "Yeah, James and I were...ya know..." my face reddening. Adam bit on the inside of his lip, massaging my calves and feet as I got into bed. I sneezed loudly. "Now I'm sick.." I groaned. "You should've got me to go get something for you." I wrapped a blanket around my body. All these late nights were starting to take a toll on me. "Just try to go to sleep."
Adam POV
I needed to smoke now. I put on some tennis shoes and a shirt. Aaliyah was cuddled up under the covers. "Where are you going?" "Just down to my place for a second. I'll be back in a few minutes." A quiet "Okay" was all she said. I went down to my apartment and pulled a out some rolling paper and rolled me a blunt. Work had been stressing me lately. I never smoked, but when I did it was only, and only strictly because of stress. Emphasis on strictly. I put on a jacket and went out onto the balcony and just smoked. I sat down in the chair, just letting the toxic smoke fill my lungs...
"...Hey man..get up..."
"..Adam get your ass up.."
My eyes snapped open and Rico was standing above me. I was laying on the couch of my apartment. Thank God I moved inside and hadn't stayed outside in the bitter cold or I would have hypothermia right now. My voice croaked as I spoke.
"R-Rico, how'd you get in here?" "Door was open" he said, eating some McDonald's.
"Damn bruh, your eyes are red as a bitch!" he laughed.
"Where's Aaliyah?" He swallowed his food. "I don't know, I guess she's still in bed. It's only 7:50." "7:50?! I have to get to work!" I hopped out of the seat, ran into my bathroom, brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. If Aaliyah was in bed, there was no doubt she was going to be late.
Rico stood outside my apartment waiting for me. I put on my all-black Timber-lands, that matched with Aaliyah's, and ran down the hallway. When I got into Aaliyah's apartment she was sound sleep, with a jar of pickles by her side.
I shook her gently.
"Aaliyah..babe you have to get up." Her eyes fluttered open, and she scrunched up her nose. She pulled the cover over her head. "Five more minutes.." "No baby girl, its almost eight o'clock, you have to get up." Her eyes fluttered open. "I don't want to go today" she whined. Her voice quivered as if she was about to cry. "Come on baby, you need to go to school." It was as if I was arguing with a child. "I'm not going to fucking school so leave me the fuck alone."
I took my hands off of her, knowing her hormones were off the edge today, and those were something I wouldn't want to deal with. I had to go. But this was still my pregnant girlfriend. I pulled the cover from over her head, and pecked her lips. "Love you too babe!" I said as I ran out her place.
"Hey Rico, I gotta go. I'll come by later today." I jumped into my new black Nissan, and sped off to work. Another day, another dollar.
