After a long evening of being out with Adam and Priscilla, I finally got home. I took my shoes off and laid on the couch instantly fell asleep.

A loud knock from the door interrupted me from my peaceful sleep. I stomped to the door, practically swinging it off the hinges. My face went pale when I saw the police. Priscilla ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my waist. "W-where's Adam?" She shrugged, tears still falling from her eyes. "They took mommy and daddy" she told me. I looked up at the officers."Do you mind if we come in?" I stepped aside, so the male and female officers could come inside.
Whatever they were about to tell me, I felt like Priscilla didn't need to hear it. "Priscilla, go to my room and turn on the TV." She got up, one of her favorite dolls held her hand and left the room. "Miss?" "Williams" I replied. "Miss Williams, how much did you know about Mr. Luis Rodriguez?" the female officer asked. J. Middleton was on her name tag. "He was a nice man, he didn't talk much though, but he seemed to care for his family- why are you asking this?" The male office, D. Thomas spoke. "Tonight, or rather this morning, the NYPD was called about some drug dealers on the street outside a home in Queens. Mr. Rodriguez, was involved."
"So where is Adam?" "Adam?" "His son. "He is at the station, getting questioned." "You think he had something to do with this?" "We're not sure yet." "Adam would never do anything like this" I answered, "He's a good man." The police officers stayed quiet for a few seconds, then they got up. "Is it alright if Priscilla stays the night with you?" they asked. "Of course" I said without second thought. "Priscilla?" Officer Middleton called, walking to the door. Priscilla walked into the living room. The woman crouched down to her height. "Sweetie, you're going to be staying with Mrs. Williams tonight, alright?" Priscilla nodded.
"We're going to pick her up at eight am" the Officer Thomas added. "Where are you going to take her?" "She'll have to go to a foster home for a while." "You can't do that, Adam-" "Adam isn't have guardianship of his sister" "I'm sorry, Mrs. Williams it's the law." With that the police left. Priscilla looked up at me with red eyes. "Aaliyah, what's going on?" "Nothing you have to worry about, alright?" She nodded. I got Priscilla tucked into bed. I went back into the living room tucked and threw myself on the couch.

I woke up, late once again. I quickly got up but tripped over my shoes sitting on the floor. "Fuck!" I snapped getting up. I got a shower and changed into a white v-neck, black leggings and some light pink athletic shoes. I quickly curled my hair then I went and woke up Priscilla, helping her get ready also. Someone knocked on the door. "I'll be right there!" I finished braiding Priscilla's hair. "Get your book bag" I told her. I rushed and opened the door to see Officer Thomas and Middleton. "Sorry, I'm running a little late this morning."
"How about we give you a ride?" Officer Middleton suggested.
"That would be great, Thank you!"

The police officers pulled up to the school and got out. Priscilla followed me into the building, never letting go off me. Everyone looked at me as I walked into the classroom. "Sir, can I talk to you?" Officer Thomas asked Mr. Thompson. "Yes sir." He looked at me and went into the hallway with the officers. Everyone stared at me like I had just killed someone. I walked to my seat and got my designs out. "Where are they taking me?" Priscilla asked. "You're going to a nice home for children." It was the easiest way to explain.
"How long will I have to stay there?" "I don't know kiddo, but I'll come and visit everyday. Me and Adam, I promise." The two officers walked back into the room. "Priscilla, we have to go now." Priscilla looked at me, sadly. "Aaliyah, I don't want to go" she cried. I hugged her to try and calm her down. "It's only for a little while, okay? Think of it as a place to meet new friends." "Really?" I nodded. "Everyone is going to want to be your friend! You have nothing to worry about, I'll come see you after school, 'kay?" She nodded and walked over to officers, waving as she left.
"As I was saying..." Mr. Thompson started.

The taxi dropped me off at the foster home. I walked up the steps to the foster home and knocked on the door, and a tall, blonde woman answered. "Hello! Can I help you?" she asked cheerfully. "I'm here to visit Priscilla Rodriguez." Half annoyed at her voice, but happy Priscilla has someone to live with that seems like a very genuine and sweet person. "Priscilla someone's here to see you!" she sung. Priscilla ran to the door and hugged me. "Aaliyah! You came!" I laughed. "I said I would." "Adam! Aaliyah está aquí (Aaliyah is here!)." Adam walked into the living room. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. I walked over and gave him a long hug; not saying anything.
