The Symbol of Life

Chapter Fourteen: The Boy and Confusion.

Alex started looking around her house. She had just woken up from a bad dream, more of a memory actually. She was a little scared since she was in her house instead of outside. She looked to her left and saw the boy. He's kinda cute and muscular, but I kinda want to kill him right now. She looked a little bit behind him and saw the animal that he had summoned earlier. She looked back at the boy. He had dark hair that was medium length. He had cuts all over him, but he deserved them. I kinda want to see his eyes. Not sure how long that will be. She looked back at the animal. It was kinda scary but after all she had been through it would take more than a spirit looking animal to completely scare her. His clothes were a little ripped and what he wore was a grey hoodie and sweatpants. She wanted to wake him up and tell him to get out but that wouldn't be right. Even though Alex had grown up to know how to be nice to everyone just she couldn't always do that.

"Yawn," spoke the boy, startling Alex a little.

"I guess I will talk to you," Alex said softly.

"Well that's a start, I'm Devon, and I didn't mean to wreck your house. The cops were trying to arrest me for nothing, and I uncontrollably killed them all. Please don't call me a monster," Devon said.

"So are you a power user like me," Alex questioned.

"I don't know what a power user is, but I have this symbol. It is the shape of a phoenix, and I also have a symbol on my chest. Along with the dark and orange markings all over my body," Devon explained.

As Devon was explaining that she notice that his eyes were unique. Not ruby red but like a diamond white.

"I am new to this 'stuff'. Can I see your symbols," Alex asked in wondering.

She watched as Devon rolled his arm to reveal the phoenix and watched his face show bewilderment. She studied it. This looks nothing like mine. Strange.

"Can I see your other one?"

Devon started to lift up his shirt and she started to blush.

"Put your shirt down," Alex stated, "Just explain it."

Alex was starting to realize that he was becoming a little comfortable with her and she the same. Just he doesn't realize that the symbols were starting to disappear. Alex listened to him explain what the symbols looked like and noticed that the symbols and marking had disappeared.

"Hey Devon, look at yourself. Your markings are gone and your eyes changed," Alex spoke in wonder.
