They were almost at the edge of the forest when they saw it. It looked like a man. A man who looked too powerful for Alex to even take on. Branden would have to be the one to have to do it. Even though he was burnt to a crisp, Alex knew he was strong enough.
The man, at least it looked like, had the a power to turn themselves into lightingbolts put together in the shape of a person. Electrifying.

"On the count of three run Alex. Okay, you got it?"

"Yeah I got it."

"Good."

Alex watched as Branden started off towards her school. He saw his hand flash a three. A clear three. Just a difference in the air for it to be visible. Then a two. He's good at this power thing. One. She didn't move, as she watched, as he leaped and started to climb in the air. With the help of his power of course.
He got hit in the gut, almost immediately, and flew towards the woods at the side of the school. He hit the tree hard. His head snapped back. She heard a pop. She watched as the body fell and slumped to the ground. Lifeless. The creature looked at Alex. Then dissappered into the air.
Alex started to run at this point. Home, that is, as far away from the school as she could. She had watched another power user get murdered by what ever that thing was. It wasn't good to think about. It reminded her of something. Something she hated to be reminded of.
