A New Turn

Chapter 19

CAITLIN POV

Many curse words ran through my head. I looked over at Dani and all she gave me was a wide grin. Yeah, that wasn't helping.

I quickly dashed a look over to Cathy as she pressed the play button on the stereo. A few seconds later, some notes of a piano filled the room.

I could tell immediately that it was Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri. This was lucky for me as this was my audition song and I still remembered by dance.

Once again, I lightly shut my eyes before I began. My limbs moved with grace as the song reached it's climax. I nailed each step as I pranced around the room.

The song ended as I landed in my final position. I hadn't heard anything so I lifted my head.

Blank expressions filled the faces of the girls. The most surprising one was Dani, she was stunned. Suddenly, applause erupted from their hands, including Cathy's. I wasn't sure what to think. I never thought I was good enough to stun people.

"Well Caitlin, I think we can all say that we are truly impressed. I think we all made the right decision letting you in here."

I was utterly lost for words. Just, what was going on?

LOUIS POV

I woke up to the sound of the shower running down the hall. Normally, I would assume it was Harry cause you know, no one else lived here. But now, it could of been him or Caitlin.

I just stayed in bed for a while, turning on the television and watching those early morning breakfast shows. Just in case it was Caitlin, I thought the better idea was to stay here. Besides, we didn't need anymore awkward things to talk about.

Lucky for me, there was a story about us in the entertainment news on some show.

"New band on block, One Direction start their Up All Night tour this evening in Watford. The English-Irish boy band, who placed 3rd on the X Factor, are playing songs from their massively successful Up All Night album. We hear that their family and friends will be in attendance and we can't wait to see the footage."

It was really weird hearing this. Since when were 5 teenage boys, doing what they love, news?

I heard the door slam from downstairs so I assumed Caitlin had left. I quickly slipped on a Doncaster Rovers shirt and headed downstairs to meet with Harry.

I walked in to see Harry eating what looked liked toast, but you couldn't always be sure with him.

"Morning mate." He managed to speak out in between mouthfuls.

"Morning. Has Caitlin left?" I asked him with desperation in my voice.

"Yeah about 2 minutes ago. Dani picked her up."

"Cool. Did you ask her about tonight?"

"Yeah she's coming! She seemed really excited!"

"Awesome." I spoke as I walked into the pantry. I grabbed some cornflakes, a bowl and some milk. I poured the cornflakes and milk into the bowl and then took a seat next to Harry.

"You ready for today man?" Harry sounded pretty nervous, just like me.

"I'm damn nervous. We haven't done this much press since the X Factor finale. And tonight is going to be crazy, but I'm shit scared."

"Yeah same. It's going to be nuts."

We both finished our breakfast before both heading up into our rooms to get ready for the day. Just as I finished getting everything done, I heard a knock on the door.

Harry and I both raced downstairs to answer the door to see Liam, Niall, Zayn and Paul (our manager and bodyguard) waiting for us.

Paul spoke up first. "Ready to go boys? The car's downstairs."

"Yep, let's go!" I could tell Harry was nervous but he seemed particularly chipper.

We all jumped in the elevator and then the car. We all got in the backseat. The car began moving. Everyone was silent for a few minutes. None of us had done anything this big before. You could see that all 5 boys were all th nerves. I even think Paul was a little nervous.

We pulled into our first piece of press for the day. A press conference. I had no idea where we were, but as we entered the parking lot, we were welcomed by screaming girls with phones.

"LOUIS LOUIS LOUIS!!!!"

"LOUIS I LOVE YOU!!!"

This was nuts.

We were all ushered into the building. Everything went passed me as a blur.

I suddenly realised I was at a long desk, sitting with the rest of the boys, microphones in front of us and about a hundred people in front of that. Shit.

Everyone was hushed. I looked down at the boys faces. I was at the end. Next to me was Niall, then Harry, then Liam, then Zayn.

Questions began being fired at us. All the usual ones like "What is it like to have screaming girls chasing after you now?" and "How are you finding the attention?", all the usual crap.

But one question stuck out above the rest.

"So boys, who's taken?" A young woman from a teen girl magazine asked. She had brown curled hair, hipster glasses and a nice figure.

Liam immediately answered. "Ah me and Niall. I'm going out with a dancer from X Factor and Niall is with a Oxford Uni basketballer."

The crowed oohed and aahhed as they wrote things down.

Then someone asked a question I really hoped would not have been.

"So Zayn, Harry and Louis, you boys crushing on anyone?"

My heart skipped a beat. Images of Caitlin ran through my head.

I couldn't let her slip. Everything in our future would be turned upside down.

The only issue now was; how was I going to sound convincing as I said no? And not to mention, how would I react if Caitlin asked me about it?

Zayn spoke first "ah no, not at the moment."

"Yeah same here" Harry spoke out. I just chimed in after him.

"Yeah no, not now."

The crowd didn't give as much of a reaction. I imagined that they were looking for some more gossip.

A few more questions were asked and that was it. The first thing was over. But who knows what else we had to do.

We were ushered out of the building, screaming met our ears as we stepped outside. We were practically jogging to the van as we all jumped in and the car moved very quickly. I looked back to see some crazy girls chasing after us.

Some small chatter filled the car this time. I didn't say anything though. Well at least not until Liam spoke to me.

"Good work mate."

"What?"

"Not telling people about Caitlin. We all know you're crushing on her but it's too early. And if Caitlin asks about it, tell her that."

"Mate I'm not crushing on her."

Laughter erupted from all 4 boys. They could see right through me. I guess that's what happens when you spend so much time with them.

Zayn spoke up. "Mate you gotta be kidding yourself. They way you look at her is the same way that Romeo looked at Juliet."

He had a point.

Sorry for not updating! I had 3 tests today at school! But lucky for you, I have no school tomorrow so I will try and update then or Saturday! But I am seeing The Fault In Our Stars tomorrow so I might still be crying...
