Jae's heart felt like it was being ripped out of him when he walked out the door and heard Eunji's incessant sobbing. Christmas was coming up and the only gift he gave her was only pain. 'I ruined her life. Yet, I claim to love her. ' He thought, his own tears threatening to spill out as he wandered out to the streets and mindlessly bumped into Kyungsoo.

"Yah, Jae, what's wrong?" Kyungsoo questioned worriedly as Jae shook his head and wiped the stray tears that escaped. Kyungsoo sighed and dragged Jae with him into his house, his heart ached for his best friend. But what could he do, Jae had been hiding a lot from him.

"Yah, Soo. What do I do?" Jae uttered lifelessly as Kyungsoo sighed and patted Jae's back. "You need to tell me the truth if you want my help." He demanded but he received silence. "No, you're gonna hate me if you found what I did. I even hate myself, let alone how you'd react if you found out."

With that said, Jae knocked out as Kyungsoo shook him to try to wake him. "Yah! Who said you could sleep here!?" He whined but Jae remained unconscious. "He's hopeless." Kyungsoo sighed as he tucked his friend into the spare bedroom, hoping for the best for him.

Eunji tucked herself into bed, crying into her pillow when she heard the jangle of keys at the door. "Is it Jae?" She mumbled to herself while wiping her tears. The door creaked open as she grabbed a bat from the corner of her room and approached the intruder silently. "Who are you?"

Silence answered her as she ran to attack the intruder with all her might. "Ow! Eunji! Stop!....It's me, Jin." The figure yelped in pain but Eunji ceased her movements when he declared who he was. Her heart dropped when Jin's eyes stared back at hers, but was it really Jin? Or another twin brother?

"How am I to believe that you're really Jin? I've been deceived too many times already." Eunji croaked as Jin limped over to pull her into his arms. Tears spilled out on their own when she witnessed how he limped towards her. "Is that why you never came back to me?" She mumbled into his chest as she grabbed his shirt and wept.

Jin hated the fact that he was paralyzed on one leg, leading him to believe that he wasn't good enough for her. But his love pushed him to come back to her. "I'm so sorry for everything that I've done. I cheated, lied, and did nothing but hurt you. Despite all that, you still waited for me to come back."

Jin caressed her cheek and rubbed his nose against hers, she leaned into his touch and sighed. He's the real Jin, her boyfriend that she loved for 3 years. But "loved", did she still have feelings for him anymore? Or did her heart already turned towards Jae?

"Jae told me you died, do you know how painful it was to hear that?!" Eunji screamed as she grabbed fistfuls of his shirt. Jin wept silently, knowing it was all his fault that she was suffering. "I was suddenly revived but they couldn't fix my leg. I was too ashamed to come back and see you."

He confessed as Eunji felt her heart clenched, he had a valid reason for not coming back while Jae deceived her. But he cheated while Jae was sincere in his love for her despite hiding behind his brother's shadow. Jin's hands caressed her cheek as he leaned in slowly, however just a second before his lips reached hers, she instinctively turned her face and his lips landed on her cheek.

Jin's mouth opened to speak but Eunji had beat him to it. "I'm sorry I'm just not ready. Jae came posing as you and then you come back...I need some time to wrap my head around all of this." Jin nodded solemnly as he inched back. "I'll wait as long as it takes for you to accept me again."

The three went on with their lives, posing as if everything was alright. But how can everything be alright when you're forcing yourself to be with someone who's supposed to remain in the past?

Jin went out of his way to get back into Eunji's good graces as she pasted a smile for him. His tiny shimmer of hope was magnified when she wrapped an arm around his to assist him, she didn't want him to fall, that meant she cared right? "Thanks," Jin said with a bright smile that Eunji reciprocated.

Jin finally decided to invite Jae over and clear everything up, while Eunji and Jae were anxious to see each other. They never saw each other again after Eunji kicked him out when she found out the truth. "Eunji, I know Hyung for lying to you but he didn't want you to get hurt if you found out. I admit that I hated him for awhile because he was able to be by your side while I was still in New York."

Eunji sighed, Jin had a point, are Jae's actions really unforgivable? "You're right, we should clear everything up." Eunji conceded and slipped into her bedroom, she couldn't stop pacing as she wrung her hands. 'Yah, Eunji, you don't need to get so nervous! He should be nervous, he lied to you!'

Eunji scolded herself as she collapsed onto her bed and whined. "Ughh, why is my life like this??" She refused to admit it but she knew, if she didn't have feelings for him, why was she so shy to see him again?

Jin was outside her door and heard her, she wasn't that anxious to see him. Yet, she's so anxious to see Jae, his brother. "I lost her, didn't I?" Jin mumbled to himself while glancing at his leg, his tears fell slowly but he breathed deeply and gently ran his hand down her door.

Kyungsoo dragged Jae off the couch for him to go wash up as the latter groaned. "Can't I get 5 more minutes??" He whined as Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and shoved Jae into the bathroom. Jae's phone suddenly pinged as the text was on display. 'Come by as soon as you can, we need to talk. -Jin'  Kyungsoo sighed and knocked on the door to give Jae his phone.

He nearly spat out the toothpaste in his mouth when he read Jin's text. "He's back?? Does Eunji know?" He muttered to himself, his heart raced at the thought of Eunji. He was eager for her presence as a thirsty man is eager for water. Jae got dressed and rushed to his car as Kyungsoo looked on in confusion.

Jae knocked softly, feeling abashed and anxious to see his brother again, but his heart dropped when he was met with Eunji's soft smile. "Hey, come in." Eunji invited him in as he nodded and followed her to the living room. He missed how comfortable the apartment complex had used to be for him. Eunji's eyes shifted around, making his heartbreak at the awkwardness until she received a text. "I guess Jin won't be joining us today...How are you doing?"

Jae smiled genuinely for the first time in the few days ever since they last saw each other. "I'm doing alright, how are you?" Eunji wanted to scoot closer and lean against him as they chatted like they used to, but she was afraid that it wouldn't be appropriate. "I can't believe I'm saying this but...I've been missing you." She confessed as Jae's eyes turned glassy. She missed him? "Eunji, I just wanted you to know that I meant every single word I said to you."

Regret hung in the air. Neither said a word as Jae reached out but Eunji inched back, and that inch said so much. "I hope you're happy with Jin." He bade her before slowly walking out and not looking back. Only this time did Eunji realize how painful it is to see the one you love walk away from you. But she still couldn't choose between Jin and Jae.

It was finally Christmas as Eunji rose from her bed an stared out at the snowy sidewalk. 'I wish he was here with me.' She thought, which led her to get herself ready and roam the streets. Hoping she could bump into him again. Jae walked mindlessly down the Main street when he reached the spot where couples came to view the scenery of Winter.

Eunji accidentally collided with a broad chest, but the figure already knew it was her as he held her close. "Eunji?" He whispered as her eyes shot up. "Jae!" She shouted out in delight and hugged him back. "You're the best Christmas gift ever." They muttered simultaneously before engaging in a warm kiss.

Jin viewed them from afar, despite how much he ached for losing Eunji. He knew she was happy.
