"Aren't you afraid of me?"

"No... I think, deep down... you're a good guy."

No one had ever called Yoongi a good guy before and all he could think about was her words.

He couldn't help but start to take notice of her.

He realised that although they had been in the same class this whole time, he never really noticed that she was not like the rest of the students in the class. While everyone would be fooling around every morning, she would listen to her iPod and do her homework or read quietly.

He noticed she never fawned over boys like the rest of the girls in the school did.

He noticed the subtle way she would tuck her hair behind her ear when she was focused.

He noticed that she would furrow her eyebrows when she didn't understand something.

He even noticed she had two best friends, Miyoung and In-ah from class 3-B.

The first period of the day was maths. Everyone was working on their paper in silence and Ms. Kang was walking down the rows of desks slowly, glancing down at each student.

Yoongi had already finished his paper and sat back. His eyes automatically glanced at the back of Soo-ji's head.

He saw her discreetly look at her phone under her desk.

"IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!" Miyoung texted in the group chat.

"What?" In-ah replied.

"KARAOKE AFTER SCHOOL! Hehehe! :)" Miyoung said.

Aish... can they not talk about this 'important announcement' at lunchtime?!  Soo-ji scolded them in her head.

Yoongi saw Ms. Kang walking down her row now...

Yah... isn't she gonna put her phone away?! He mentally shouted in his head. Does she want to get in trouble?! Shit! Ms. Kang is getting nearer to her.

Without thinking twice, he grabbed an eraser off his desk and threw it to the back of Soo-ji's head.

"Ow!" She yelped, holding the back of head.

"Miss Choi," Ms. Kang said sternly. "Is there a problem?"

Everyone in the class turned to her.

"U-uh... no." She replied shakily.

"Please do not disturb other students in my class."

Soo-ji bowed her head slightly. Ms. Kang turned to walk to the front of the class and Soo-ji turned around to glance at the students sitting behind her, her hand smoothing out the back of her hair. When her eyes came closer to Yoongi's direction, he immediately looked down at his paper.

Soo-ji finally let out a relieved sigh when it was lunchtime and she sat with In-ah and Miyoung at the cafeteria.

She didn't have much of appetite for her sandwich and glanced at the table at the far end of the cafeteria where BTS sat. They were all laughing at a joke Jimin said before she caught Yoongi standing up and walking her way.

He caught her eye and she looked away quickly.

Shit. What's he coming here for? He's not coming to me, is he... She wondered.

As her body tensed, she saw him go to the drinks vending machine next to her table out of the corner of her eye.

"Soo-ji ah, are you gonna join us for karaoke after school?" Miyoung asked as she stuffed a piece of apple in her mouth.

"No... I'm going to the library to finish Mr. Chung's paper..." She smiled apologetically.

"Oh come on, Soo-ji! You can do that at home after karaoke!" In-ah whined as she kept nudging her.

"Sorry girls, you know how it is for me at home..." she said in a low whisper, "I promise next time!"

In-ah and Miyoung both sighed and Soo-ji didn't hear what they were muttering under their breath as she caught Yoongi walking back to his table with his drink.

So she's going to the library after school... he thought.

***

It was around 8pm when Soo-ji decided to head home from the library. The school was eerily quiet and it was already dark outside.

I must be the only one here... She thought.

She stuffed her books into her bag and started heading out of school.

"Shouldn't you have learnt your lesson to not walk home alone so late?" A voice said behind her.

She turned around and saw Yoongi leaning against the school gates. He pushed off the gates and walked straight past her.

Her eyes followed him when suddenly he stopped and turned back around to look at her.

"You wanna go home or not?" he snapped, "I don't have much patience, you know".

She jogged up next to him and turned to him, "what are you doing?"

He shifted his shoulders slightly before simply answering, "Walking you home."

What the hell?

"Why? I think I'm fully capable, thanks."

"Yeah, fully capable. Says the one who needed saving two days ago," he scoffed.

She glared at him at the corner of her eyes, "if you wanna play hero again, you can just say." She smiled sweetly at him.

He looked at her stunned before bursting out laughing, "You know, a lot of girls would die for me to even walk them home."

"Pfft... don't flatter yourself." She rolled her eyes and he tried to hide his small smile before looking the other way.

They walked in silence for a few minutes.

While Soo-ji struggled to think of something to say to him to lighten the tense atmosphere, she was grateful someone was there to walk her home as she was still shaken up from that night.

"What are you doing in school so late?" She asked.

He shuffled slightly, "I was waiting for you."

"Huh?" She stopped dead in her tracks.

"Don't flatter yourself," he hit back at her. "I just don't wanna play hero again," he smirked.

They arrived outside her house and she turned to him. The awkward silence set in and she looked at her feet.

"I'm here."

Yoongi shuffled his feet slightly and cleared his throat quickly. He stuffed his hands in his pockets.

"Thanks for walking me home." She looked up at him and spoke quietly.

He looked down at her and gave her a small nod.

She smiled and turned the ball of her feet to her front door.

"Yah!" He called softly behind her.

Soo-ji looked back at him.

"I don't think you're an inconvenience by the way."

And then he left, leaving her stunned and jaw dropped.
