Soo-ji took a week off school to wait for her bruised face to recover.
She had not spoken to Yoongi in that whole week. Nor had he come to visit her at home.
She contemplated hundreds of times whether to call or text him, but she did not know what to say.
She decided to face him in school.
However, he was nowhere to be found on her first day back. As a matter of fact, all BTS boys were absent too.
That's strange... Are they all missing school today?
She waited for them to come to school the next day.
And the next day...
And then the next...
They did not turn up to school for the next few weeks.
Soo-ji tried calling Yoongi, but it always went to voicemail.
She tried texting him, but he never replied.
She tried knocking on their house and they never opened.
Soo-ji was becoming increasingly nervous for them.
Did something happen to them? Why have they all disappeared? Where the hell are they?!
She was so desperate for answers that she decided to ask the last person she wanted to talk to - Kwon Bora.
She found her in their homeroom, laughing with her friends.
She walked up to them quickly, barging into a classmate on the way and stood in front of her.
"Can we talk?" Soo-ji asked her quietly.
Bora looked at her up and down, her face disgusted by the mere sight of her.
"No. Fuck off." Bora spat. Her friends' giggles were cut short when Soo-ji grabbed her wrist and dragged her out the classroom.
Everyone looked at them with their mouths hanging open.
"CHOI SOO-JI, LET GO OF ME! UGHH!" Soo-ji dragged her down the corridor and pushed her into an empty classroom.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU STUPID BITCH." Bora screamed in Soo-ji's face. "I CAN MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL BY WHAT YOU JUST DID THERE."
"I only have a few questions." Soo-ji said calmly.
Bora eyed her questioningly. "What questions?"
"Where is Yoongi?"
Bora squared her jaw and took one slow menacing step towards Soo-ji.
"Why do you want to know?" She asked in a low whisper. "Who are you?"
"What do you mean?..." Soo-ji's voice trailed off.
Suddenly, Soo-ji's body was hurled against the wall and Bora held a knife to her throat.
"I'm asking you one more time. Why do you want to know where they are? And who are you?"
The knife was just barely touching the surface of Soo-ji's neck that she did not even dare to swallow.
"I-I don't know what you mean." Soo-ji said in low whisper. "I'm just worried about them."
Bora looked at her from one eye to the other and she slowly withdrew her knife.
Then she scoffed in her face. "Yeah... I guess Yoongi wouldn't think you're important enough to tell you anything."
Soo-ji felt her cheeks heating up.
"How can you still be walking around the school shameless?" Bora continued, "You steal people's boyfriends. And you continue to do so when everyone calls you the school slut."
"Yoongi is not your boyfriend." Soo-ji croaked out, her breath shaky.
Bora's eyes turned into flames and her hands curled into tight fists.
"You don't know my relationship with Yoongi oppa." Bora gritted her teeth.
"You don't know mine with him either."
Soo-ji wanted to cut off her own tongue then and there. Bora did not need to be provoked anymore.
"You are the filthiest girl I've met, you know. You think you've won by taking Yoongi away from me. But he will grow bored of you after he realises how shit your pussy tastes. Let me give you some tips, honey... Go back to your mother... And ask her how to be a good little whore in bed." The corner of her lips twisted upwards into a disgusting smirk.
Soo-ji froze on the spot as the tears threatened to fall.
"How dare you..." Soo-ji whispered, holding in her anger.
"I will only say this once..." Bora threatened in a condescending voice, "Remember your place. I am not one to be messed with. You are nothing and you will never be anything to Yoongi." And she turned her heel and walked out the door, leaving Soo-ji to crumple onto the floor in shock.
The night eventually fell and Soo-ji headed home after school. She could not wait to just jump in bed and forget about everything that happened with Bora and sleep her feelings away.
However, as she unlocked her front door, she was rather surprised to see her father home.
Judging by the redness of his face and his clumsiness in knocking into everything he came into contact with in the living room, she could tell he was drunk again.
"Dad..." She called softly.
Her father closed the fridge door and turned to look at her, his eyes droopy and a bottle of beer in his hand.
He groaned loudly and walked a few steps forward before his foot caught on the leg of a stool and he fell flat on his back.
Soo-ji dropped her bag immediately on the floor and rushed forward to help him up.
As she knelt down next to him, however, she felt a hard push against her chest and she fell back on her ass.
"Get the furcck away from me." Her dad slurred.
"Dad, come on, I'll help you to your bed." Soo-ji tried again to hold him up but she was once again pushed away roughly.
"I SAID GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU FUCKING PIECE OF BURDEN SHIT!" He bellowed in her face.
She took a deep breath and looked up to the ceiling, feeling her eyes welling up. She swallowed hard and attempted to hold him as he stumbled around, his hand waving his beer in her face.
All of a sudden out of nowhere, she felt her dad slapping her around the head, the beer spilling all over her hair.
"STOP!" She screamed, pushing her dad away, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"You're just like your mother, aren't you? Everyone fucking leaves and only care about themselves!"
"S-stop!" Soo-ji sobbed, "you're hurting me, you bastard!"
Her father grabbed the back of her hair and pushed her face close to his. She let out a loud yelp, her tears stinging her eyes.
"Good." He sneered, his alcohol breath hitting her face. "You need to wake the fuck up, Choi Hyoseong. This world doesn't revolve around you spreading your legs to any man who'll have you."
Soo-ji froze at her dad's words. Choi Hyoseong... her mother. Her father thinks she's her mother.
Closing her eyes, she grabbed the back of her head where her dad still held a tight fist around her hair and pulled his hand off her.
She stumbled back, her breathing ragged and she immediately ran upstairs to her room before locking the door.
She slid down her door and burst out into a loud cry as her head split into a stabbing pain.
She reached into her pocket, pulled out her phone with shaking hands and dialled for the only person on her mind...
"The number you have called is unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone."
She dropped her phone to her side, crying even harder as she realises just how much she misses Yoongi.
