As if holding his breath, Yoongi immediately pulled out his gun and stood in front of Soo-ji.
He couldn't see anyone around yet, but the footsteps were definitely approaching them.
Whipping out his phone, he called Jungkook in a haste of panic.
"Hyung?" Jungkook said on the other line.
"I need backup. Meet me on the west side of Eunjo-ro."
Hanging up the phone at that, he quickly pulled on Soo-ji's arm towards his motorbike at the bottom of the hill.
"Yoongi! Wait!" She said between breaths, "what's going on?!"
"I'm sorry, we have to leave now."
As they jumped on the motorbike, he felt a tug on his shoulder when Soo-ji pulled him back.
"Can you tell me what the hell's happening?!" She screeched, panic plastered all over her face.
"Bora's been threatening to hurt you unless I break up with you." He said simply, ready to kick off the bike and speed away.
"So? She's always threatening me, why any different this time?!"
"No." He said firmly, looking dead in her eyes. "She's out to kill."
Yoongi whizzed the motorbike down the narrow abandoned streets as fast as he could. He could see multiple bikes closing in on him in his side mirror.
He needed to get to the main streets. Fast.
He needed to lose them.
He needed to get to Eunjo-ro, where Jungkook and the others would be waiting to back him up.
Yoongi grew increasingly frustrated when the bikes behind him not only picked up speed but more began to round up on them from all corners.
The adrenaline he felt this time was different. It wasn't the same high from killing or hurting an enemy. No, this time, he was desperate to keep the girl he come to deeply care for and love, safe.
He felt Soo-ji's arms tightly wrapped around his waist and he prayed to God that she would never let go.
Stop thinking of that now, idiot!
Twisting the handle bars of the bike to a sharp left, they finally found themselves on a busy main road. Yoongi looked behind him to see 10 or so bikes closely behind.
They were almost at Eunjo-ro now.
Jumping a red traffic light and spinning the bike into an alleyway, he entered the west side of Eunjo-ro... only to find Jungkook and the others being held back with guns pointed at their temples.
Bora stood in the middle, tapping her foot as though she was waiting for them to fall into her trap.
"Finally, oppa!" She exclaimed, "just as we've got Hoseok the wild dog under control, you've arrived!"
Yoongi glanced at Hoseok to see the side of his head bleeding profusely, blood dripping all the way down his eyes, cheeks and chin. He could barely open his eyes.
"You've got loyal friends, oppa." Bora said, "they were ready to kill me for you." Her eyes suddenly turned dark as she rounded on Jin and shot him once on the shoulder.
The force of the gunshot pushed Jin back a few steps as he grunted and groaned in pain, his hand clutching shakily onto his wound.
"ENOUGH, BORA!" Yoongi bellowed. "What the fuck are you playing at?!"
Bora took one slow menacing step towards them before locking her eyes with Soo-ji's.
"Don't you remember what you said to me that day when I broke into your locker?" Bora asked Soo-ji.
No...?
"You said 'step up your childish games if you want to play.'"
A smirk started to curve at the corner of Bora's lips, "so here I am!"
She then turned her attention to Yoongi and her mocking smile dropped instantly. "Now," she said to him, "hand her over to me. Or your friends die."
She pulled the trigger and pointed the gun towards Namjoon's chest.
"Have you lost fucking mind?" Yoongi shouted at her. "They're your brothers too! We're all in the same fucking gang!"
"They're replaceable." Bora replied simply.
Yoongi's eyes turned dark. If he wasn't holding onto Soo-ji's hand, he probably would've lunged at her right there and then.
"No they're not," he answered her through gritted teeth, "and if you touch them anymor-"
"Then what?" Bora interrupted him, "you would kill me, oppa?" Her face twisted into a manic grin, "don't you forget, my dad practically raised you. My father is the leader of the gang. What would he do to you, or her, or them if I die?"
Yoongi's body was shaking in rage at what she just said.
The truth was, she was right. There's no way he can save his friends without letting Soo-ji go. And there's no way he can keep Soo-ji by his side without watching his friends die.
Two of the most precious things in his heart, the only people he would die to protect... does he have to choose one or the other?
