Soo-ji was just walking home after a long day at school when she felt an arm hook around her neck.
"Ooofft," she stumbled on her feet. She turned to look at the person next to her and immediately rolled her eyes. "Min Yoongi, you do know you're really heavy, right?"
"Yeah, so now you know how I feel when I had to carry you in your drunken state."
"Ughh... will you ever stop making fun of me on that night?"
He pouted slightly and paused. Then he let out a smirk and leaned towards her face, "Or do you know how heavy you were when you fell on top of me at the beach?"
"UGGGGHHHH!!" Soo-ji threw her arms up in the air and stomped off.
Yoongi clutched his stomach, pissing himself laughing. He then ran to catch up to her.
"Where are you going now?" He asked.
"Home." She folded her arms against her chest, slightly annoyed.
She then felt his hand pulling her arm back and she stopped walking.
"I wanna take you somewhere." He said seriously.
"Ehh? Where?"
Yoongi opened his mouth but before he could answer, their attention was snapped to a couple shouting in front of them.
"So you think you can bed me and then go flirt with other girls?! IN FRONT OF ME?!" The girl screamed, pulling the guy's arm back as he attempted to walk away.
"Miyoung...?" Soo-ji said, furrowing her eyebrows as she walked up to the couple.
"Hoseok?!" Yoongi exclaimed, staring at the guy in disbelief.
Hoseok jerked his arm back from Miyoung, "I already made it clear to you in the beginning - we only fuck. NO. STRINGS. ATTACHED!" .
Soo-ji choked on her saliva and started coughing as she hit her chest repeatedly. Since when did they...?!
Geez Hoseok, you move fast. Yoongi said to himself.
Miyoung scoffed in his face, "so you would be okay if I flirt with other guys after texting me everyday?!"
"Quite frankly, yes!"
"And you're okay if I fuck other guys too?!"
Hoseok clenched his jaw tight before uttering out a defining "yes."
Miyoung stared at him, her face seething in anger.
"Fine... you were a shit fuck anyway." She roughly wiped away her tears with the back of her hand before running off.
"Miyoung ah!" Soo-ji called after her but she was already gone. She turned to look at Hoseok angrily but was stunned to see him watching after Miyoung, a frustrated pained expression on his face.
"Hoseok-" But Yoongi was cut off when Hoseok stomped off the other way, kicking the street bin so hard that it toppled over.
Yoongi and Soo-ji stood there dumbfounded.
"Don't think I should've given Hoseok's number to Miyoung now," Suga said.
Soo-ji slapped his chest.
"Ow! What was that for?!"
"Look at this mess you made, idiot."
"Oh yeah, all of it is my fault. I'm the one who told Hoseok to sleep with Miyoung and play with her feelings." He rolled his eyes at her.
"You gave his number to her to begin with!"
"She asked for it and he wanted to give it, Jesus Christ!"
"Ugh, so what now? Shall we go after them?!"
"No... they're too angry, right now. Talk to them when they've calmed down."
Soo-ji sighed and nodded. She knew it would only make things worse if she forced Miyoung to talk when she's upset.
"So where do you want to take me?" Soo-ji asked.
"You'll see." And he held onto her wrist, leading her to his motorbike parked at the back of the school.
They rode out of the city for an hour or so and arrived in a secluded green field in the countryside.
There was nothing there apart from a small abandoned church that stood eerily at the far end of the field.
"What are we doing here?" Soo-ji asked him.
Yoongi's face was stone hard as he just looked ahead and continued walking towards the church. She could not understand his expression, but she knew it wasn't a stupid prank he was pulling on her.
They came to a stop in front of two gravestones near the church and Yoongi knelt down, running his hand down the marble to clear the old rustled leaves away.
Huh... Soo-ji was confused. There were no writing or carvings on the two gravestones. Just plain grey marble.
She knelt down next to him, not saying a word.
"They're my parents." He told her quietly.
Soo-ji's breath caught in her throat. Not only did she not know his parents were dead but because she never heard this kind of tone from Yoongi before. His voice was almost empty... longing...
"How... why..." she stammered, struggling to get her words out.
He stood up slowly and she followed.
"My parents were shot dead when I was ten."
Soo-ji held her breath. Shot?!
"They were shot by a gang." He simply said.
Soo-ji waited for him to continue but he didn't say anymore. She wanted to ask him questions, she wanted to know more, but she chose to stay quiet instead as she felt this was something he should tell her in his own pace himself. If he wanted to even tell her.
The silence around them was calm, only the sound of the trees and high grass swaying beside them.
"Aren't you curious?" He turned to face her.
"I-I am... But if you wanted to say more, you would've done so. When you want to tell me more, I'll be here listening." She gave him a small reassuring smile and gave his shoulder a light squeeze.
He stared into her eyes, a bit taken aback by her response.
There was a time when Min Yoongi thought being alone had become so easy for he was so used to not having family around. While he thought of the BTS boys as his family now and he would do anything for them, for the first time in a very long time, he never wanted to protect something close to his heart as this girl standing before him.
