Soo-ji was just walking home after going to the Charles Seven Casino. Her mind clouded with so many questions that she didn't realise Yoongi was at the front of her house, repainting the walls back to its original white colour.
She stood dead at her spot and watched him. She felt her heart swell and tears forming in her eyes.
Yoongi turned to look at her. And it felt as though time had stopped when they looked into each other's eyes.
Min Yoongi. I still don't truly know who you are, but if there is one thing I am certain of, is that you are someone I can lean on. The countless times you saved me, you made me believe that you will always be there to catch me when I fall.
Soo-ji burst into tears and put her face in her hands as she tried to muffle out the sobs. She didn't realise he was now standing in front of her when he gently took her hands away and she looked up at him.
"Everything will be okay now," he said softly.
I know. She answered in her head. And she threw her arms around his neck and pulled him against her chest in a hug.
Everything will be okay... as long you're here with me... And as if answering her thoughts, Soo-ji felt Yoongi slowly wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her close.
Repainting the front of the house with Yoongi felt like the longest time Soo-ji was relaxed and truly happy.
They were now sitting on the steps to her front door, silently watching the sun set when Soo-ji debated whether to ask him questions.
"Yoongi-"
"I know you have questions."
"Eh?" She looked at him, her eyes wide, a bit taken aback at how he knew.
He turned fully to look at her. His eyes serious. "Whatever you want to know, I won't answer them."
Soo-ji was stunned. She didn't know what to say. "... Why?"
"The less you know, the easier it will be for you."
Soo-ji was done being confused all day. She felt her temper rising. "I don't understand... What are you hiding? What is it that you can't tell me? I won't tell anyone, if that's what you're worried about." She was close to tears again. "... Do you not trust me?"
Yoongi looked into her eyes before slowly raising a hand up to her bruised cheek.
"Don't ever... think that I do not trust you." He said quietly.
Soo-ji opened her mouth to reply but was instantly cut off by the ringing of his phone.
He pulled out his phone and looked at the screen. He glanced at Soo-ji once before walking a few steps away from her to take the call.
She watched after him and strained to hear what he was saying.
"No," Yoongi murmured down the phone, "I'm not with the boys... I'll get them now, we'll meet you there."
Yoongi hung up quickly and turned back to look at Soo-ji.
He slowly walked towards her before kneeling in front of her on the steps.
"I've gotta go now..." He said quietly to her, his eyes scanning her face. He then let out a small sigh and said, "I know you want answers... but believe me, it's better if you don't know."
"Yoongi, I-,"
"Just know that I'm protecting you."
He stood up and ruffled her hair before walking away, leaving Soo-ji on the steps watching after him.
Yoongi pressed his phone to his ear as he walked to his motorbike parked on the corner of Soo-ji's street.
"Hyung?" Taehyung picked up on the first ring.
"Where are you guys now?" Yoongi asked him.
"In school, why?"
"Get the others and head to HQ now. We've got work."
As Yoongi hung up, he took one last look behind him at Soo-ji's house before swinging his leg over his motorbike and riding off.
Soo-ji was still sitting at the front steps of her house when she heard the roaring of his motorbike engine speed off. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and texted Miyoung and In-ah.
"Hey girls, can we meet after school?"
"Soo-ji ah! Are you okay? Where are you? Why aren't you answering your phone? Do you know how worried we are?!" In-ah bombarded her with question after question.
"I'm okay. It's my dad again... I'm at home at the moment, can we meet at the Sunny Cafe after school?"
"We'll see you there." Miyoung texted back.

At the Sunny Cafe, Soo-ji covered her face with a hoodie and scarf before sitting at a table in the corner. She waved to Miyoung and In-ah when she saw them walk through the door.
They both let out a loud gasp when they saw her face.
"Holy crap." In-ah exclaimed, "what happened to you?!"
After Soo-ji told them what happened and reassuring them that everything is solved, they all ordered drinks and chatted about anything and everything.
"Miyoung ah, are you okay now?" Soo-ji asked her over her iced cappuccino.
Miyoung nodded slowly, knowing exactly what she was asking about. "I'm fine now, Hoseok and I are over."
"What exactly happened though?"
Miyoung drew out a long breath before saying, "I got Hoseok's number off Yoongi when he came to ask me for yours. After that, Hoseok and I starting talking... we went out a few times after school and I really liked him... But just when I thought things were going serious, he said he doesn't do serious relationships and if we wanna carry on having fun, it'll be no strings attached and no commitments."
In-ah and Soo-ji listened quietly without saying a word.
Miyoung scoffed, "I guess I liked him so much that I still stuck with him after he said that. Pathetic right?"
She continued, "While he really hurt me, I decided I rather have a casual sex relationship with him than not see or talk to him at all."
She paused and then looked down at the table.
However, she then slammed her fist down on the table, causing In-ah and Soo-ji to jump in their seats. "But when I saw Eun Ye Seul sitting on his lap in our class and him flirting with her like I'm not there, fuck me I lost my shit."
Soo-ji can't help but smile at her best friend. Yeah, my Miyoung is back.
"So what now?" Soo-ji asked her.
"Nothing," Miyoung shrugged her shoulders casually. "I haven't spoken to him after that fight you saw us in."
However, Soo-ji's mind somehow briefly flashed to Hoseok's pained expression looking after Miyoung when she ran off crying after that fight.
