Chapter 10

Cold As Ice

Addie's p.o.v

We camped out in the woods for a bit, keeping a weary eye out for any monsters. OR creatures. Or people.

It was all good and peaceful. That had calmed down and as far as I know Maha was deeply sorry for killing Pewds like that. I heard a sudden movement from the bushes.

"Who is it?" I demanded.

A boy popped out the bush. I recognized him after a minute or two.

"Wait," I squealed, "Are you Edward? The Edward? Edward Selirey?"

He chuckled at my reaction and hugged a shocked Maha. She gently relaxed and just stared at each other for ages, me laughing in the background.

This was Edward Selirey. The No.1 subscribed channel on YouTube. And of course, SomethingLikeAwesome's boyfriend. YouTube romances are just the best!

I'm happy Jack didn't do something reckless as Ed. I would cry if Jack had to get caught up in this ruthless killing game of death. And if he saw that then he would run in fear.

I felt a vibration on my neck and noticed that my necklace was vibrating. I practically teared it off and a hologram appeared beside me.

"Jack!" I sighed.

"Just checking on you," he smiled, "Bye now."

I shook my head. Typical Jack. Always the brainy one. Who can hack into anything ever.

"So, how's it going girls?" Edward asked.

"We're doing fine," I pouted, firing an arrow above his head to prove it.

"Don't mess around," Maha frowned, face darkening.

"S-sorry!" I muttered.

What was gotten into that girl? A few seconds ago she was totally calm and now....Now she looked as if she was ready to tear my organs out if I mad a single mistake.

I heard another sound and I prayed that it wasn't Jack. It wasn't. It was much worse.

A familiar, evil smile flashed in the bushes. Shivers slither down my spine like little snakes. I knew who it was but I hoped it wasn't.

That smile belonged to someone I knew too well. The smile belonged to the person who tried to disrupt any family gatherings we had. That person even stooped to killing if she had too. That person had a record of killing five people she was supposed to marry.

That person was called Ice. Ice with the heart as cold as ice.

Maha's p.o.v

A girl jumped out the bush behind us. How did everyone get here? I mean this girl was not a participant and my boyfriend managed to sneak in? This was messed up!

I studied the girl again noticing she wore a long floaty white dress, blonde hair flopping over one eye. My eyes and her ice cold ones met and my face drained of colour. It was her. The one that killed my cousin.

This was not good. I felt like I was going to faint. I saw her faintest movement of jumping at Ed and rushed in front, felling the blade pierce my shoulder.

I bit my lip as the blood trickled to the floor. Ice's eyes met mine again and her lip curled up in a smile.

"Oh well if it isn't my dear friend," she smirked.

I grinned at her, face darkening, "Don't mess with me. Why are you here?"

I saw her move to Addie. Whoa. She was too quick for me. She had a small, sharp dagger pressed against Addie's throat.

"Let her go," I commanded.

"What if I don't?" she smiled sticking her tongue out.

"I'll kill you," I smiled, narrowing my eyes.

Addie kicked her in the shins and slithered out from her grip, bolting over to me. She looked worriedly at the dagger lodged in my arm. I gave her a grimace.

"No-one escapes an angel's judgement," Ice whispered, pulling another dagger from her sleeve.

"Who said you were an angel, Ice?" I smirked.

"Wait. You know her too?" Addie butt in.

"A bit too well," I answered, wrenching the dagger out, "Ice Angel? Let's do this. It'll be easy because you're heart is cold as ice."

"Bit rich coming from you," Ice smiled, running at me.

I grabbed my shield I had set down somewhere nearby and blocked her attacks, managing to stab her hard in the side. Her white dress stained with the blood. She roared and lashed out at me. Her attacks became harder to dodge and Ice got me witha slight cut to the leg.

"I'm ending the line here!" I screamed, plunging one of my own daggers at her chest.

She fell back, like they do in the films, daggers falling from her hands. I smiled in victory but I celebrated too early. I heard a soft groan as ten ninja stars pierced Ed.

Ice smiled at me. I was too shocked. She staged that?! How dare she! I screamed and grabbed the dagger she dropped.

"Die!" I screamed, slicing a cut straight through her neck.

I ran back to Ed, "Talk to me!"

No response. The ninja stars were embedded deep. One was directly above his heart. Did this mean he was.... He wasn't. No, he can't be. I shook him hard.

NO response. This isn't real. No. No. It just can't.
