Ash and I walk together on silence towards his house.
I finally decide to break the silence.
"We should watch a movie." I suggest.
"Sure. which one?" he asks. "There's iron man, batman, captain America, and-"
"How 'bout 'the amazing Spider-Man 2?'"
"Even better." he smiles at me.

It's towards the end of the movie, and we are cuddled up against each other under a blanket. His couch is perfect for the two of us, and of course, our popcorn. The bowl is almost empty, with only a few kernels left.
I reach for one, just as Ashton does. Our hands meet, and we instantly pull away, blushing.
I refocus on the movie, watching the sad scene. Tears threaten to flow down my cheeks, and it seems like Ashton is also about to cry. I scoot closer to him, as my tears shed. I bury my face in his shirt, wiping tears on it. He puts his head on my shoulder, and I feel a couple drops of liquid.
Ash is crying too.
"We're such a wreck." I mutter and laugh to myself. he laughs along, before hopping up.
"I'm going to bed." I check the clock, reading 3:17.
"3:17; that's our time." I smile.
"Why do we need a special time?" he asks me.
"Because that's what all best friends do." I smile, and kiss him on the cheek. "Now where do we sleep?" he points to a queen sized air mattress. I nod, and get more comfortable.

<Flashback>
<6 years ago>
"You know, best friends always have a special place and time." Ashton says.
"Yeah?" I laugh.
"Our place will always be in this treehouse, on this exact bed."
"But what's our time?"
"We'll figure it out eventually. Because all great things take time." He smiles, before pulling me into a headlock and rubbing his knuckles again a the top of my head. I slap him weakly, just enough to loosen his grip, before wiggling free. I stick my tongue out at him, before plopping down on the Queen sized bed. It's a lousy bed, disguised as an actual bed, when it's really just an air mattress.
"Let's sleep." I suggest.
"But it's still early in the night." he crosses his arms stubbornly. I check the clock, reading 3:17.
"Ash, it's three in the morning."
"So?" he asks. earning a glare from me. "Fine!" he raises his arms in surrender. He plops down next to me, and immediately steals the blanket.
"Hey!" I yell like the 10 year old I am. I look over at him, and notice he is pretending to sleep. I sigh heavily, deciding I will just have to deal with it. I squirm under the covers, getting way closer to Ash. I feel the warmth radiating off of him, and instantly fall asleep next to him.

<present time>
"Ash?" I ask. At this point, we are both about to fall asleep.
"Hmm?"
"Where are Lauren and Harry? Are they staying in Chicago too?" I ask. I almost forgot about his siblings.
"They'll be fine. I think they're at a hotel. It'll be fine, trust me."
"Ok. Good night, Ashton."
"'Night Tris." and with that, we fall asleep, curled up next to each other like old times.

The car ride is kinda awkward, as Tobias picked me and Ash up to go to my house. I haven't exactly told him the entire story, just the key points; we used to be neighbors, always have been best friends, and probably will be. Plus some minor details about how we could never date, unless we just met.
"Sooooo." I say. "this is Ashton." I tell Tobias. "He's pretty much my only best friend, even more than Christina is. He's great, actually." I smile, and ash does the same.
"Okay, great." Tobias forces himself to smile. "Just don't get too close to my girlfriend, got it?" Ashton nods.
"Ashton's coming to our school next year you know." I lean in towards Tobias and whisper, "there's no way to avoid him now, so deal with it."
<>
As we all walk into the house, I hear a gasp from Ashton.
"So this is our home..." I lead.
"It's huge!" he says in his cute Australian accent.
"Mhm." Says Tobias.
"Race ya to the game room?" I ask. Ashton nods. "3..2...1!" I scream, running up the stairs. He follows me, gaining speed. He finds the room and plops down on the couch just as I do the same. We collapse on top of eachother, laughing.
<>
"Bye Ash!" I wave and smile as he hops into his band's van with the other boys. As soon as I see them drive away, I walk back into the house and greet an unhappy-looking Tobias.
"Look, he's my best frie-" Toby cuts me off with a hug, and sweeps me off the ground. He lightly jogs up the stairs to our room, where he tosses me onto the bed. I laugh along with his deep chuckles, when he suddenly stops, grabbing my wrist.
"What is this?" he asks.
"A tattoo?" I say cautiously.
"When did you get it? and why?"
"Uhh, last night, and because I was doing a Dauntless tradition with all the boys. They all got tattoos too."
"So does Ashton have one like yours?"
"Umm, sort of." I look away from his gaze, before bringing it back up. "But it was unintentional, we didn't plan it it."
"Ok..." He thinks for a moment. "Let's just go to bed, yeah?" I nod in agreement.
"Yeah, I'm tired." I throw on navy blue booty shorts and a dark purple sports bra, and then tying my hair up in a messy French braid. When I lay back in bed, he is in gray sweatpants, with a bare chest. I hop in bed next to him, placing my head on his chest. He strokes my hair, before we drift off to sleep together.

Aww, ash, my bby got a tattoo for real...
Mixed emotions about it cause it looks cool but he might get more like 1D did (not that that's wrong...) but then they won't have much meaning😟 but it's totally his choice
