Him. Caleb. Locking me in tr basement. I scream, and he puts a rope in my mouths and covers it with fabric for extra precaution. He sits me down in a chair, and ties my ankles and wrists to each leg of the chair. I hear all my friends upstairs worried. But Caleb locked the basement stair way. There is no other escape.
Then she walks out from behind the corner. Her. Jeanine. I try to sneer at her, but I have my mouth covered and tied.
"Untie her mouth." She orders caleb. He does it, like he's her puppet. "Where are your parents?" she asks.
"I don't know. They just left a note, and disappeared." I say, honestly. She whispers into Caleb's ear. He punches me in the throat. I shriek.
"Tell me the honest answers or well just have to inject you with truth serum." She says, bringing out a syringe with a strange fluid in it.
"Go ahead." I snarl. She obviously doesn't know about my divergence. "I don't care."
She hands it to caleb.
"Why do you obey her?" I ask him. "can't you see you're her puppet?" I ask. "You're supposed to be smart. You're in Erudite, Caleb!" the betrayal still stings.
"This is for your own good, Beatrice." He says like a villain. He stabs me with the syringe, injecting truth serum into my veins. It's painful, but I can resist it. I'll get out of this. I can get myself out. Or...I will be rescued.
I want to be.
I can.
I believe it.
