Epilogue

"I know you'll find me... Good night, Y/N. I love you..."

"Good night, Jungkook. I love you..."

You finally let out all the tears you've suppressed the whole day. You bawled your eyes out as you held onto the lifeless body of Jungkook, crying and crying.

Just then, a van pulls over and there came out Jin, Jimin, Taehyung, Hoseok, Maya and Jungkook's parents. You cried to them, asking for help, "Help! Please! Jungkook is- Jungkook-"

Hearing your screams, they rushed towards your direction. The boys carried Jungkook to the van while you followed after them. You were on the way back to the hospital, everyone inside the van were anxious, eyes filled with tears, especially you, as your vision is blurry from all your crying. You all wished and hoped for a miracle to happen. Suddenly, your vision went black and you lost consciousness. You've been forcing yourself to smile all the time, you haven't slept much and haven't eaten a lot lately. You lost all the strength you put up for the last few days, everything... everything just crumbled down for you.

"Y/N... Y/N... Wake up... It's me." The angelic voice called for your name, waking you up from your slumber. It was the voice you always wanted to hear. You opened your eyes slowly as a smile crept in your face when you confirmed the owner of the voice. You had just woke up but you gathered all your energy to jump into the guy and hug him.

"Jungkook! You're alive! You're here..." You sobbed onto his shoulder as he patted you in the head. He pulled away from the hug and held you by your shoulders.

"I was scared... I thought you wouldn't wake up. I'm glad... It's all better now." He cried and managed to put on a smile just for you.

"If you weren't here then it's better if I didn't..." You said as you looked down.

"But now you're here so I'm glad. I'm so glad..." You continued and sobbed harder, tears trickling down your chin. Hearing what you said, his eyebrows furrowed and his smile turned into a frown.

"I... I need to leave now." He said frantically.

"What?" You asked, confused by his words. He turned around and walked towards the door, leaving you behind. You followed after him, calling his name "Jungkook! Why are you leaving?!"

He stopped walking and turned to you and smiled. "Y/N, don't follow me..."

"What? I won't stop following you until you tell me why you're leaving all of a sudden!" You defended.

"My job here is done, Y/N. You're awake now and that's all that matters." He flashed you a warm smile.

"It doesn't matter if you're not here! Nothing matters if you're not here with me... so please don't leave... If you leave, I'll follow you wherever you go..." You ran after him and hugged him, you thought maybe then, you could stop him from leaving. You sobbed on his chest, his shirt now wet with your tears and snot.

"No, Y/N... There are other people waiting for you. Don't waste your life following me. You deserve happiness as well... So forget about me and move on. I may be leaving, but I'll always be right by your side, looking over you. I'll keep you safe forever..." He pinched your cheeks and kissed you softly in your forehead. "I love you..." He whispered into your ear. You closed your eyes, savouring this moment. He lets go of you and pulled away from your hug.

"Goodbye." Was the last thing he said before he walked away, you rushed over to him and grabbed his hand "Jungkook! Wait-"

You breathed heavily as you woke up the second time, this time for real. You sat up in your bed and cried, you could still feel the warmth of his hands. You wondered why and your eyes led you to your hand, which is holding onto someone else's hand.
