Quick note: This chapter is slightly religious. I grew up in a religious family, and when I was younger they would tell me the same thing in this story. I know not everyone believes in God, so if it makes you uncomfortable, simply just don't read.

I was happily asleep, my husband keeping me and our second unborn child safe. Everything was quiet until…

*BOOM!*

“Mommy! Daddy!” We heard our daughter scream out.

We instantly were on our feet and racing to see if everything was alright. We dashed into the room to see that she was wide eyed and crying her little heart out. Quickly, Jesse picked up our 4 year old baby girl named Casey and cradled her in his arms.

“Now, why is my baby girl cryin’? Can you tell ol’ pops why?” He asked with a soothing voice.

“ T-There was a loud boom. A-and it scared me daddy!” She screamed.

“ Oh baby, don't worry about no thunder. Besides daddy will always be here to protect you.” He said while tickling her. She started to squeal and laugh, causing me to giggle myself.

“ Now is my baby going to be a big girl, and go to sleep?” He asked her.

“But what if the noise comes again?” She asked.

“ Darlin’ just think of it as the angels and God are just doing some bowlin’!” He said with a loud chuckle.

“ Okay, but could I please sleep with you and mommy, just for tonight?” She asked with the puppy face.

“ Oh I don't know. What do you say Darlin’? Do we let this little Daredevil sleep in our bed with us?” He asked sarcastically, making her giggle.

“ I don't see why not, but the real question is… can she handle your loud snores?” I said with a smirk. Our little girl busted into full on laughter, while Jesse deadpanned. I crouched down with wide arms, as Casey ran into my arms. I picked her up, and carried her to our bed, Jesse close behind.

“I don't snore loudly…” I heard Jesse mumble behind me. I laughed, and replied with,”mm hmm, sure you don't.”

“Daddy does, I can hear it from my room sometimes.” Casey said, backing me up.

“Alright you, if you're not careful, there may be no pancakes in the mornin’.” Jesse said, as Casey started to squirm around in my arm, while trying her best to hide her giggles.

“Alrighty you two, knock it off and lay down.” Slowly, I let Casey down on the bed, while Jesse pulled her in close while I climbed in myself. Once all comfortable, we all cuddled up tight, with Casey in the middle. We were all asleep until there was another loud thunder clap in the sky. Casey yelped once more, but me and Jesse were there this time to cradle her, and calm her down.

“Just remember Darlin’ they're up there bowlin’” Jesse said, soothing her.

Soon after, she calmed down and fell back asleep.

“Your such a great father Jesse, and I can't wait for the next addition to our family.” I said as I rubbed my stomach.

“And you're a great mother (Y/N) and I can't wait either, but get some sleep.”

“Alright. I love you Jesse.”

“Love you too Darlin’.”
