Chapter 3

 Travis's POV

            We get new students every year, but it’s not every year that we get new demigod students. Bells, the new girl, was pretty, but not my style. She wore black lace leggings under some distressed denim shorts, a tucked in white tee shirt and a black and red oversized flannel shirt. Her hair was ombre style and in a messy side braid. She did not wear too much makeup, like most girls that go to this school. She just had a little mascara and lip gloss. She had bright green eyes that were calculating, like she was trying to figure out every detail of this new environment; as every daughter of Athena should. She was medium-height and skinny, but healthy.

            Katie Gardener, on the other hand, SHE was beautiful. I've had a crush on her since she first came to camp half-blood, but I have never had a chance to tell her. Every time she looked at me I got flustered and tongue-tied. As the son of Hermes that I am, I’ve been pranking her a lot recently, but I think its been rubbing off the wrong way.

{AFTER SECOND AND THIRD PERIOD}

“RING” the Lunch bell rang. Second and third period were all the same. Every year teachers talk about the same thing: what will be expected of us, what we would be reviewing all year… blah, blah, blah. My schedule was pretty awesome this year; I had homeroom with Thalia, Nico and now Bells, then Biology with Dakota, Percy and Jason. Finally, I had Mythology with Bells, Nico and Piper.

            Bells was pretty shy around new people, I noticed; but I had a feeling we would be best friends right away. She didn’t talk to Piper or Nico, but maybe that’s because I didn’t introduce them. I started packing my stuff and Bells was waiting for me by the door. “Come on, Ill introduce you to everyone now.”

            By the time we got to the cafeteria our friends had all collected in one table. Us demigods had to stick together since we were so many. It was a long table, able to fit all of us and everyone knew not to mess with our gang, since we could really kick ass if we wanted to. On the header of the table sat Thalia on one end and Dakota in the other. Next to Thalia were two empty spaces reserved for Bells, and me. Then were my twin brother Connor and partner in crime. Next to Connor were Leo and Calypso, Jason and Reyna. At the other end of the table, Dakota sat at the header and then was Nico, Piper, Frank Hazel, Percy and Annabeth. Finally in front of the empty seat sat Katie.

            “Oh, that’s a lot of people, what if they don’t like me.” Bells said. “They are all extremely nice, well excluding Thalia and Nico; but they mean well.” I sat in front of Katie, and Bells sat next to Connor.

            “Hi, I’m the new girl, Bells”
