Chapter 13

            Travis’s POV

            I was so excited to go pick up Bells and see how she would act in front of Connor. I hadn’t had a chance to ask him if he liked her, and I would probably not get any response anyway. Connor is not one to talk about his secrets and crushes and either way, he knows we are best friends and that I would tell her right away if he did admit it. We finally got there and saw her standing by the door, her eyes on her phone, probably refreshing tumblr. I honked twice and she looked up, surprised at first and then smiling a little. She climbed on the backseat and said ‘Hi’ to us.

            “Hey there, Bells,” said Connor, not looking back. Her eyes squinted a bit and then she went back to her normal, shy smile. None of us talked the whole way there out of either awkwardness or just being afraid to laugh my ass out.

            We finally arrived at the park and looked for the rest of the gang, finding them all scattered in the shade of a tree. Annabeth was lying with her head on Percy’s lap next to a tree. Leo and Calypso were hand wrestling to see who was stronger (Connor and I bet 10 bucks to Percy Calypso would win). Katie and Piper were sitting on a blanket, Piper braiding Katie's hair. Man she looked gorgeous just sitting there, the sun hitting her just perfectly and all the plants around them seemed greener. Bells slapped my arm and said “Stop drooling, Travis.” “Look who’s talking, ‘Miss I don’t talk at all,” I countered.  She laughed out loud and just the sound of her laughter made me start laughing with her.

            Jason and Reyna were playing chess and it was nice to see Reyna happy at last. Frank, Dakota, Nico and Thalia were all chillin’. Bells and I sat in front of Leo and suddenly Calypso beat him. He started cursing in Spanish; Bells had a look of total astonishment. She knocked him on the head and said “Leo! Cuidadito chiquillo, no digas palabrotas!.” Watch it with the bad words, Leo, in Spanish. I was surprised; I didn’t know she spoke Spanish. “You know Spanish! Sorry I didn’t know,” Leo replied. Katie interrupted their conversation while Percy handed me my 10 bucks. “Come on, lets play truth or dare!

            We all sat in a circle on the big blanket, courtesy of Percy (more like Sally). Bells sat next to Annabeth and whispered something to her. She nodded. They hugged and I noticed how we were seated. The order in the circle was Bells, Annabeth, Percy, Frank, Hazel, Katie, Connor, Piper, Dakota, Calypso, Leo, Thalia, Reyna, Jason, Nico and me. “First of all, lets get some ground rules,” said Thalia. “You can’t chicken out of any dares and you have to tell the 100% truth.” At this, Nico paled even more than usual. He had gained strength and was now taller than Annabeth. Leo had also had a growth spurt, but a more drastic one. It was like seeing Troye Sivan turn into Marcus Buttler; well maybe not THAT drastic; but he had gained some muscle and was taller than Calypso.

“Who wants to start?” asked Percy. “I do,” said Katie, this was going to be good. “Nico, Truth or Dare?” “Truth” he answered, scared. “Do you have a crush on anyone here?” He paled harder. “Yes,” he lit up a bit, “but you didn’t ask who so…” he laughed. It was weird hearing him laugh.

            “Leo, truth or dare?” Nico asked. “Dare, dude.” “I dare you to kiss the girl you think is the prettiest; and you cant be biased.” Calypso tensed at this. Maybe she was scared that Leo didn’t think she was the prettiest and would have to kiss someone else. She was caught by surprise when his lips crashed into hers. She laughed and they pulled apart. “That was easy, man.” Said Leo. We continued for some time until we were very rudely interrupted by a hydra.
