Blake's Point of View
I woke up feeling energized and excited, yet nervous and slightly scared. I had a lot at stake. My whole life seemed to have come down to this one game and it was only the first game of the season. Everything I had been working for lately was coming down to today. I had to win and be the best to show Coach that I belong on the team, even if I do end up arrested. And, Krissy had to show up to prove that she will take my case. I need her to take my case. As much of an idiot I am, I know that I cannot go to jail. I do not belong in jail. I wouldn't survive!"Tyler!" I heard my name yelled. I slid on a blue short-sleeved Giants t-shirt and some dark-washed jeans. I ran my hand through my blond hair and made my way out of my room.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" I asked Carlos. He was sitting at the dining table with a bowl of cereal. His brown eyes were full of excitement. If I didn't have a lot at stake, I would be too.
"Asher let me in before he left. He said he had things to do. I don't know. He was nervous for something." Carlos said with a shrug. He spooned more of his breakfast into his mouth, looking back down at his phone. "So, how's the whole lawyer thing going?"
"A mess." I sighed. I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and served myself some Captain Crunch. I stole the milk from him and poured it into my bowl. I grabbed a spoon and sat across from Carlos.
"Your case is a mess or your lawyer?" He asked.
"Both." I replied. He gave me a confused look. I sighed. I forgot that he didn't know about my past life or my past girlfriend. Maybe I shouldn't tell him.
"Dude, what are you talking about?" Carlos asked. He set his phone down.
"When I was in high school, I fell in love with this girl. Keep in mind that I was "the bad boy" and she was "the nerd". We stayed together through most of college until my senior and her junior year. I finished my degree in three years. Anyway, something happened between us that caused me to push her away. I was mean, rude, and selfish, blaming her for everything. I ignored my mistakes and focused on being drafted. So here we are, 4 years later. I party and drink, hook up with randoms so i'd be able to forget her and my mistakes. That's why I have gotten those DUI's. I remember how much of a total douche I was in a hard time and drink my sorrows away. I don't even notice how drunk I am until a cop does. So now that I need to get out of this problem, I somehow manage to run into her. Asher got my ex to be my fucking lawyer." I told him.
"Damn bro. So now you get to have her fix your present mistake that was caused from your past mistakes. Your life sucks." Carlos said laughing. I gave him a deadpan look before finishing my cereal.
"I know my life sucks. It has since I messed up with Krissy. To make things worse, she's freaking in love with some dick." I said placing my bowl in the sink. Carlos did the same, only laughing at my current predicament.
"Dude, how do you know he's a dick?" He asked through his laughs.
"He just is. His stupid brown hair and blue eyes. He looks like an ass." I defended. Carlos shook his head.
"Have you met him?" He asked. I shook my head. "Then you can't subject him to that."
"Shut up. You aren't helping." I mumbled.
"Dude, if you want her back, just tell her. Who knows, she might still love you." Carlos said. His phone vibrated, stopping all conversation.
"If it was that easy, i'd be with her right now. Damn, you sound just like Sophie." I mumbled. Carlos head popped up.
"Wait, Asher's Sophie? Am I missing more information from your lives?" He asked. I stopped my movement. Shit. I forget that no one knows Asher is dating my twin sister.
