Three is a Crowd
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~Krissy watched her oldest son run around the playground. Zac had the same shaggy hair and bright blue eyes as his father. The difference was that he had brown hair like hers. He had the same nose as her but the same jaw line as Blake. She knew that he was going to be catch for the girls when he got older. Although now, the little ten year old's on the playground followed him everywhere. Did cooties not exist anymore?
"Mommy." She heard one of the twins say. She looked down and saw the blond that resembled too much like Blake. It was like she was exact replica with dark blue eyes and silky blond hair.
"Yes Kate?" She asked her. She was bouncing from one leg to the other. She sighed. She had to go potty.
"I need to go potty." She said beginning to squeeze her legs together. Krissy nodded, getting up from the bench. She grabbed her bag and slipped her reading book back inside. She was never going to finish the chapter she was on.
"Zac!" She called his name. He looked up from his little posse. He was surrounded by boys and girls. He was probably telling them some dramatic story that occurred to him. He loved the attention, just like dad.
"Yes mom?" He asked with annoyance. He was trying to show off. She ignored his tone and looked around for the other half of Kate. She instantly spotted her. She was sitting underneath a tree with a book in her hand. Even though she was only in first grade, she read at a fourth grade level. She was definitely a replica of Krissy with the same brown hair and plain brown eyes. "Watch Miranda. I'm taking Kate to the restroom."
He rolled his eyes but nodded. He acted like he was this bad boy who didn't care what he was told to do, but they both knew how much he loved his twin sisters. He'd protect them from everything. Krissy then took Kate's small hand in her own and led them to the nearest restroom.
Once done, they walked back out to the park to see a rather large group of people. It was like a small crowd had formed on the playground in the matter of minutes. Krissy looked around trying to find her kids, stopping when she heard the giggle of Miranda.
"Krissy!" She heard his voice say. Her body relaxed, almost on command, just knowing he was here. "Hi babe."
"Hi Blake." She said as he broke through the crowd. It was as if they were the only two people in the park. That's how Blake made her feel, even twenty years later. She walked over to him, ready to engulf him in a hug, but someone else beat her to it.
"Hi daddy!" Kate said letting go of Krissy's hand. Blake quickly picked her up and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Kate giggled.
"Hi Kate. I missed you and your sister." He said as he managed to pick up the other twin too. Krissy laughed at the sight. "What babe? Did you think I stopped having muscles?"
"No." She said while shaking her head. He had been retired for a year now. It was a big transition for him, but it was one he knew he wanted to make. He wanted to start being more of a father than a football player. Krissy didn't input her opinion. She knew that no matter what he did, he'd always be a father to them. She'd support him through any decision he made.
"Where's Zac?" Blake asked looking around. They looked around and saw him talking awfully close to a girl. Usually Krissy would be okay with it, but this girl looked a little too old for him. Definitely Blake's son.
