"Ms. Ross, can I see you after class, please?" Mrs.Elibox, my history teacher, asked. Uh oh, did that kid snitch on me? Was I in trouble? I nodded to her and continued to on my worksheet. I didn't focus one bit. What did she want? Did that kid snitch? Was I in trouble? Was I failing?Dad would kill me if i failed history.
The last bell rang. Kid's scrambled out of the classroom to go home but, I stayed stuck in my seat. Mrs. Elibox coughed, gesturing for me to come to her desk. I walked over quickly and quietly.
"I'm not failing, am I?" I asked nervously,I've been working too hard to be failing right?
"Of course not! Quite the opposite, actually. You see, I have a student who is on the brink of failing. Since you're making the highest A of all my classes, I was wondering if you would be up to tutoring the student?" Oh phew, I'm not failing. But do I really want to tutor some random kid who is failing? I stood there and thought for a while before Mrs. Elibox added. "You will be paid, of course."
"Uhm.. Fine." I nodded. It doesn't hurt to have a little extra pocket money, and I really do need to start saving for collage." Wait! Who is this kid?"
"Oh, he's coming, you can begin tutoring tomorrow in the library after school. I'll give you a sheet so you can set up a schedule tomorrow before you leave," I nodded and stood there, just waiting. This better not take too long, my parents would get nervous.
A knock on the door scared me enough to make me jump. Calm down, Kay, he's just the kid I'm tutoring. A face peeking that scared me even more, thought i didn't jump. No I wasn't scared,I was just annoyed.
"Ash?" Oh hell no. There's no way I'm tutoring that brat. I laughed nervously as I planned out how to tell Mrs. Elibox that I had changed my mind.
"Uh, why'd you ask me here,Mrs. E?" Ash asked innocently.
"You are aware that you have an extreamly in class, correct? If you get an F, you will be kicked off the team. I've asked Kayla Ross, my best student to tutor you and she agreed," Mrs. Elibox informed. Well, there was no getting out of this. I was stuck. I stood there quietly while they argued.
"That's stupid. I don't need tutoring," Ash retorted sternly.
"Yes,you do. You're making a 47 at the moment! That's barely above a failing grade. Ash, you're one of the best baseball players, we really need you on our team. But we must kick you off if you can't raise your grade. It's the rules." Ash looked furious. Mrs. Elibox looked annoyed, and I must have looked really meek. Wow, 47 really was on the brink of failing. This would be tough tutoring.
"Fine. I'll take the damn tutoring. See you," grumbled Ash. He lest and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. What had I just agreed too? I said my goodbyes to Mrs. Elibox before grabbing my stuff and running outside.

"I'm home!" I called, closing the door behind me with a wheeze. I had to run home because the rain and thunder that started up. I'm not a huge exercise person, obviously. Shery was in the Kitchen making supper, my little sister Scarlette was in her room, and dad was on the couch, putting together some kind of shelf. Shery was my step mom, but I don't even feel like she's that. She's more of a random that we all know and that she lives in our house. You can probably tell that I'm not a fan of her.
"Hey sweetheart, how was school?" Shery and dad said in unison. They've been married for six years, its honestly scary how in sync they are now.
"Eh, it was okay. By the way I'm tutoring some brat now, so I'll be busy on some days. The school's paying me, I couldn't say no." I blabbered with a bored voice. Both of them turned towards me. Crud, did I just say "brat"?
"Honey, don't be so rude! You can't just call people brats," Dad exclaimed. I shrugged. What could I say? Ash was a freaking spoiled brat who doesn't know how to be polite.
"Sorry," I apologized. "I'm going to go start my homework. Call me down for dinner. Love ya." I blew a kiss to dad and ran upstairs before they could stop me. Quickly shut myself behind me and sighed with relief. I was just not in them mood for extra socialization, it was just too exhausting and awkward. Now that I was finally alone in my room, I flopped on my bed and began my YouTube browsing.
Homework homework, I could easily finish that maths sheet in study hall, which I had for my third period class. I had moths for fifth period, so I had plenty of time. Wow, sometimes I really wonder how I get As and Bs. Sometimes I wonder how I get labeled as good girl, seeing as I frequently put off school work, I'm not a very good people person, and I'm extreamly sarcastic.
"Kayla, supper is ready! Get down here before it goes cold!" Shery yelled. I frowned. My favourite song just came on, did I really want to wait? Pressing the pause button to stop my music, I jumped out of me full sized bed and onto my fluffy blue rug that matched the hue of my bedding, curtains ,and lampshade. If you couldn't tell already. I really like the colour blue. But more specifically, I like that deep aquamarine blue. It's very expensive, calming and peaceful.
Oh right, supper! " I'm comin'," I yelped back, groaning inwardly as I took the steps two at a time, being careful not to slip. I'm also a klutz, but you've surely noticed that. I'm just one big mess in every way, but I'm not about to let that crush me. I have confidence in myself, at least.
Scarlette, my adorable half sister who I would always consider my full sister, was sitting at her booster seat. She's five, really short, and hella adorable. Her cheeks are like chipmunks, which matches her brownish skin tone and beautiful chestnut hair. Her eyes were piercing grey-blue. She will surely grow up to be the most attractive lady out there. Scarlette got most of her looks from Shery. Shery gave her brownish skin tone and hair, along with the dimples and the lack of height. Dad gave her the eye colour and most likely the caring personality. I got a lot of my looks from my actual mom.
Mom was beautiful as well. Black hair, brown eyes, pale skin, slim figure and amazing voice.
I got moms big, brown eyes, pale skin and curved body. Dad gave me his Sandy blonde hair.
"We're having turkey Sushi." Dad picked up a plate with four little salads wrapped in a turkey and handed it to me. That's what our Turkey Sushi is: lettuce and cut up tomatoes wrapped up in a provolone and turkey breast. It was surprisingly filling. We all ate in silence, the sound of chopsticks hitting the plate filling the room. This is how our rushed dinners have been for the past year and a half, after Shery finally gave up on getting me to talk to her. Scarlette isn't the best with talking, being too shy; she prefers to listen. That's another good thing about her, because it makes her awfully smart. She takes everything in and lets very little out.
Supper was over. I put my chopsticks into the sink, quickly running back upstairs. I was so distant from my family now, its so unbearable. But I deal with it. I don't want to talk with dad or Shery, and Scarlette's always attached to one of them, so she's put out of the picture as well.
I changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top as my pajamas, brushed my teeth and went to bed. No use in staying up if social media was just as boring as dinner.
