*Mako's POV*

I woke up groaning as I heard a high giggle and a deep chuckle trying and failing to be contained.

I opened my eyes groggily to see Bolin and Mika sitting on my brother's bed with smiles. I look down to see a curly dark brown head of hair on Amaya, who's face was laying on my bare chest and cuddled up to me while I was cuddled up to her.

I groaned again and hung my head but ended up burying my face in her hair which didn't help my situation.

"Awwww.. does wittle Mako have a cwush?" Bolin cooed.

I felt Amaya squirm and yawn as she opened her eyes. "Good Morning Mako, Uhhhhh why am I looking at a bare chest?" She asked as she stared at my chest with confusion. it was adorable.

Woah, woah woah! Mako, What are you doing man!

She began to get up and put on her over shirt from last night and securing her shoes on her feet before grabbing her practice bag and hugging Bolin and turning to me.

"Well Mako, I don't know about you but I'm going to work" she smirked as she kissed Mika on the forehead, telling her to stay safe and that she had to pick up more bread today.

I hastily pick up a random shirt, threw my usual coat over it and grabbed my scarf before running out the door with her, telling Bolin to stay out of trouble.

We got downstairs and continued walking through the arena until we got outside to see boats and blimps over and in the water surrounding the arena.

"So Mako, How long have you guys lived in Republic City?" she spoke as we turned the corner and began walking down 12th street.

"About 4 maybe 5 years. We came here after our parents died" I said muttering that last part, hoping she didn't hear me.

Her head snapped to my direction with her hair flying in every which way.

"You're what? 19 maybe? And your parents have already died?"

I nodded "they were killed in an Equalist Attack. Anyways, Where are your parents then?" I smirked looking down at her small figure.

"They're back in the Southern Water Tribe" she said with a casual shrug.

"Wait, so your parents are both water benders? And you and Mika are not?"

She nods "yup, but there is one other waterbender other than my parents" she trails off as her nonchalant attitude becomes a tense and hostile one.

I see the factory up ahead and lead her in the direction of the path that leads to the back door of the building.

"Another sister?"

"Yea, My younger sister, Korra, lucky little girl. She always got whatever she wanted one they found out who she was" she mumbled.

"What do you mean?" I ask placing an arm around her shoulder and feeling her lean into me.

"When we were little, the members of the White Lotus came to our house in search of the Avatar and they found her. It was Korra" she said. "I'll tell you the rest of the way home. If you guys want, you can stay with us. We have rooms not being used" she smiled before walking in and placing her bag down before walking over and picking up her time card which was above mine.

She punched it before sighing and walking over to one of the generators, saying hi to the people she knew, and began shooting blue lightning streams into the opening.

I copied her actions after removing my coat leaving me in my white tank top and pants. As I kept the blue stream steady, I noticed her working and thinking at the same time.
