Chapter 18: I just cant leave you guys alone

*Mika's POV*

I woke up the next morning to see Amaya's bed empty. I sigh, assuming that she just got up early, and lug myself out of bed. I walk out of the room and over to the dining room to see everyone sitting there. Everyone except Amaya.

"Good morning, Mika" Su smiles.

"Good Morning" I say back. "Has anyone seen Amaya this morning?" Everyone shrugs and shakes their heads. Mako, Bolin and Asami get up and follow me out after we had eaten.

"Mika, Amaya's no where to be seen" Asami asked.

"This morning, her bed was empty and I assumed that she had gotten up early to practice her bending but when I walked in there to see she wasn't there. I got worried" I said walking back into Amaya and my room and changed into my daily clothes.

"Where do you think she went?" Bolin asked.

"I don't know but if I know my older sister. She probably got lost somewhere" I say shaking my head.

"Why do you say that?"

"She's my older sister. I think I would know" I say with a glare at Mako. I grab my cable belt and tuck some extra rock into my pocket just incase.

"She'll turn up don't worry" I feel Asami place her hand on my shoulder. I smile at her before walking outside and casually walk around thinking about where she would go.

That evening, Amaya still hadn't shown up and I was worried more than ever. I was about to go out and search for her but Lin, Su, and Baatar came in and told me to go off to bed. When I refused, Wei was told to escort me to my room and make sure I got to bed.

So, I lay here staring at the dark ceiling. I don't know what time it is but I take this time to think of all the possibilities.

Amaya might be curious and stubborn but she's certainly not stupid. She wouldn't wonder to far, beside she'd figure out her way back to where she started. I remember when we first moved to Republic City, we didn't have anything but she never gave up hope. Whatever food she'd find, she'd break off a tiny piece and give me the rest. She managed to figure out how to get around the entire city in two days.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by a shrieking next door. I sat up and look through the window into the boys room where Pabu was jumping on Bolin who looked out the window before waking Mako and running outside.

I jump up worried and run outside. I don't care that I'm in my shorts and tank top, I still run out.

"Guys, Zaheer has Korra" I hear someone yell. I look to see Fire dude holding Korra over his shoulder while Ms.Water Arms is in a defensive position with Sparky Sparky Boom Girl in the middle and Baldy trying to Airbend the guards away.

Bolin creates a barrier between the four criminals and us. Mako and Bolin begin sending fire and earth at them. I run back inside and grab and extra flying stick thing.

I don't know what it's called so I call it a flying stick thing. Sue me.

I run outside and fly upward over them. When I'm directly over them I send a gust of water at a random person which just happens to be fire dude. He looks up at me as he tries to dry off.

Next thing I know, Baldy is next to me trying to knock me out of the air. I send a big chunk of a nearby rock soaring at him. He almost dodged it but it hit the cloth of his flying stick making three rips in the material. He started losing altitude until he was forced to land on the other side of the lava moat fire dude had made while we were in the air.

I land and use my Earthbending and Airbending to send giant rocks at him followed by small twisters.

"Mika! Catch!" I hear Lin say throwing my cable belt at me. I snap it on and use the cables to try to grab Baldy but he retreats with his buddies just Wei and Wing had lowered Lin and Su down to retrieve Korra.

Right before fire dude leaves he looks me in the eyes for a minute before saying something I felt like killing him for.

"You must be the girl my little prisoner always talks about. What's her name? Amanda, Anya, Maya, Amaya! That's it! Better watch out, cupcake. We'll be back" he smirks before following his friends with Korra over his shoulder.

I collapse on the floor right after the dust settles. I groan as I lay face down on the cold metal.

"Who betrayed my city!?!?" I hear the completely pissed off voice of Su scream. "No one betrays my city and gets away! Every guard is subject to questioning!" she screams before stalking off.

"Mika! Are you okay?" Bolin says running over with Mako and Asami.

"What did the lavabender say?" Asami asked.

"He said that he had Amaya and that they'll be back for me. They now have Korra" I say as I sit up with the help of the boys.

"What do they want with you three?" Lin says as Su paces.

"Well, Lin, they are the only three who can bend multiple elements... Maybe they want them for that" Su says.

"Maybe. While we search for Korra and Amaya. We need to keep Mika safe. Bolin and Mako will be in charge of that" Lin says giving the boys a look before walking out with her sister.

"Looks like you're bunking with us" Bolin says hugging me tight before leading me off to their room.

With the boys, I know I'm safe because they'll fight for their friends, but I just can't help feeling worried and scared. These guys have captured Amaya and the Avatar! People who say that they wouldn't be scared if they were in my position are freaking liars.

I lay down in Bolin's bed and lay there worrying about Amaya and Korra and the chances of me joining them.
