Chapter 9: Racist

Mako and I buried ourselves into the crowd that had formed to witness the spectacle.

"Attention ladies and gentleman!" Bolin announced through the bullhorn. "Do not panic, but there are two escaped convicts in the area. One with a red scarf and the other with dark red hair. If you see them-!" At that moment we came walking forward.

"We are the escaped Firebender convicts and you will feel our fury" Mako said in an uninterested tone.

"Don't make us mad because you will feel the fear of our Firebending" I say the same way before we both send a small flame in the air.

"That's nothing!" A guy in the crowd exclaimed.

I grumbled "fine" before sending my giant dragon made of flames and sending it around the place with spare blue lightning bolts sparking every once in a while making everyone gasp.

Mika jumps out from nowhere and lifts a medium size piece of earth and holds it over me.

"Oh no!" Bolin screams into the horn "It's the notorious Sneaky Sisters!"

"You have nothing to worry! I will defeat these escaped criminals with my Airbending skills!" Korra exclaimed before making a twister and lifting us up when she was supposed to blow us away.

"I'm going to kill this girl" I mumbled as she tossed us multiple times in the air before dropping us.

"Mako, I have to go" I smiled kissing him before removing my over coat and shorts and replacing it with airbender robes. I ran out to the center pulling my hair back in a bun.

Korra handed me a flying stick thing. I wasn't sure what it was called so I call it a flying stick. Sue me.

I smiled and flew up into the air with Jinora before we both landed on two different pillars.

"They may be young but they are in full control ladies and gentleman" Bolin announces before Tenzin forms an air scooter distracting the crowd from Jinora and I. "Remember, the taller one is single" Bolin adds with a smirk.

I notice Mako glare at Bolin who smiles innocently at his brother before ending the theatrics.

We all land in the middle and form a group where Bolin announces "If anyone you know is an Airbender please send them out way. Master Tenzin and Avatar Korra will be happy to teach them all they need to know"

Everyone applauded as I slipped away to change back into my firebender attire.

A small dark skinned boy dressed in green Earthbender attire ran up and smiled.

"That airbending was cool. If you're looking for Airbenders you've found one" he beamed demonstrating what he had discovered. "Im Kai"

"Hello Kai, I'm bored now and going back onto the ship. Dueces" I say before walking off toward the air ship with Mika and Asami.

"Well, that was kinda racist" I mutter once all three of us are inside.

"What do you mean?" Asami asked.

"Well, usually in the movers or on the radio, the fire bender is always the criminal" I shrug before going up top to the practice area and shooting at a dummy.

"Whoa! I thought you were an Airbender" Kai exclaims running up behind me, scaring me almost making me hit him with a stream of lightning.

"I'm sorry" I say before walking off toward the food and grabbing a sandwich.

"Hey Amaya" Mako calls running up behind me.

"What could I be of assistance with?" I say after taking a bite of my sandwich.

"Before we left, I told Beifong that I would start as soon as we get back to are Republic City and she wants to know if you want to work for the police too" he smiled

I shrugged "Sure, why not?" He grinned before running off.

What have I gotten myself into...
