Outside, Torrence stood patiently. His eyes were calm and he gave a charming smile when he saw Olivia without her mask. "It's lookin better already!" He told her with false excitement, but it truth, she hadn't actually improved at all. My stupid potion didn't work. Maybe it wasn't meant to work. Was the cut given to her on purpose?
Olivia noticed him staring off into space and pushed past him to the dinner table. "I'm not too hungry tonight Torrence" Olivia informed Torrence as he turned and followed her into the kitchen.
Torrence nodded "Okay" was all he said as he pushed Olivia's bowl in front of her. It had the same amount as his did, "You are gonna eat anyway, you are kind of small and need some more food in your system" Torrence told Olivia.
Olivia felt rage build up in her chest. He face heated up. HOW DARE HE!? WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? She screamed inside her mind at Torrence and frustratedly munched the contents of the bowl. The noodles were actually really good and he had added the perfect amount of cheese.
Torrence saw Olivia's conflicted face, One part expressed increasing anger and another showed contentedness. What did I do? Torrence gave Olivia a confused look and tilted his head for extra effect.
Olivia took in a deep breath and made her rage melt away. "It makes me angry and increases my anxiety when you say things like that" she said and felt her anxiety fill her throat. Despite it hurting, she breathed in as best she could; knowing that she needed oxygen to function if she wanted to be taken seriously.
Torrence nodded and decided to mimic her formality "I apologize if I hurt you but I was merely stating a fact and not trying to tease you" He explained and took the last bite of his soup. Olivia hadn't finished yet and was stirring the contents of the bowl around now. At least she ate half of it Torrence thought and waited for her to eat at least one more bite.
"What?" Oliva snorted and set her spoon down.
Torrence saw she was still frustrated he sighed and smiled his charming smile, "Nothin, you are just so beautiful" He mused thoughtfully and set his elbows on the table to hold his head up.
Olivia was caught off guard by his comment. She felt her cheeks warm up and an unwanted smile crept onto her face. Stop smiling!! God dammit. Olivia chastised herself for smiling and looked down. She put her hands over her face trying to hide that she was blushing. Stop it, stop it, stop it. She told herself over and over in her head. And to make matters even worse, Torrence's song began to play from under the table.
Torrence was confused about Olivia's reaction to his complement, what does this mean? Does she like me or is she repulsed? He ran through several scenarios where she either rejected him or accepted him. Uh, uh, uh, what do I do? He felt himself begin to panic a little as Olivia slowly got her blush to calm down.
Olivia looked up at Torrence and took a deep breath "Thank you," She said and Stared at her spoon, Do I compliment him back or leave it at "thank you"? Olivia eyed Torrence I don't want him to get the wrong idea though... "Y-you look nice tonight-t too" she sputtered and covered her cheeks, Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Torrence felt his cheeks warm up and his mouth widened into a smile. "Thank you, Angel," Torrence beamed, relieved that she thought he looked nice. Oh phew she likes me too! Now you need to keep it that way. I know, I know, Torrence talked to himself in his head.
Olivia pushed her bowl away from herself, "I really liked your cooking, but I'm really full" She sighed I don't want this food in me.
Torrence's eyes twinkled proudly, "Thank you for eating" He told her and took her bowl away. He poured the bowl out and placed it in the sink and rinsed the rest of the soup off of it. "Ready for bed?" He asked gently, Silently hoping for her to invite him to sleep in the same bed as her.
Olivia nodded and stood up. "Yeah sure" She walked over to Torrence and held his hand as he led her down many halls back to her room. They reached the door and Torrence paused. Olivia saw that look in his eyes and knew what he wanted but she would not give him what he wanted, not tonight. "Good Night Torrence" Olivia said and stepped into her room.
"Wait" Torrence let out a desperate tone in his voice. Olivia turned slowly and looked up at torrence in response. "Can, can I stay with you?" He muttered gingerly and squeezed his hands together. She's totally gonna say no, I just know it. Torrence looked Nervously at Olivia.
