Torrence swallowed hard, took a few steps closer and placed his hand on Olivia's shoulder "O-Olivia..."
Olivia gazed up at torrence, not seeing him entirely through her puffy eyes. "Yes?" her voice shook and instead of taking his hand away, she placed her hand onto his gently. His was cold and shaky, it had lost all emotion from before.
Torrence took a deep breath "If..." he almost stopped himself. "If you wanna... If you want to go... t-to leave me... I won't stop you... " Torrence felt his breathing constrict and become tighter as he pulled his hand away from her. He was afraid of her leaving, but afraid of what he might do if she stayed.
Olivia felt a spark of hope ignite into a flame within her gut. She nodded but didn't say a word as she stood up "thank you..." she whispered and stood up.
Olivia's words hit Torrence like wind from the north and he found himself unable to move, not even his eyes. He didn't dare to breathe as Olivia stood up and exited silently, without word or thought. I did this to myself. I drove my angel away. I. Made. Her. Leave.
All Olivia could think was how she wanted to leave the prison she had been taken to and her feet took her straight to an exit. She opened the door in front of her and a refreshing breeze nipped her nose. She smiled, feeling a weight disappear from her mind as she took her first step outside in the last week. I'm free, he let me go.
Torrence fell to his knees in the kitchen, he was feeling every emotion and no emotion at the same time. His brain was overwhelmed. He stared forward at the wall in front of him, his breath coming out shallow and his mind was on fire. He closed his eyes as the agony of his thoughts worsened with the passing minutes. They felt like seconds to Torrence, suddenly everything he did next was a blur. He moved fast and without a single thought passing through his brain to stop him. He only had one person on his mind, Olivia...
