-The next morning-
The room where Olivia and Torrence slept in was completely void of any noise. The mirror in the opposite wall from the bed stood silently, reflecting the room through its gaze. Through the curtains a yellowish glow shone through and landed on the floor across the room. In it's ray, small dust particles danced through the air. Floating, falling as if they were moving to some unknown beat. Two figures cuddled on a large bed on one side of the room. Their heads sticking out of the warm blankets, eyes closed and content.
Olivia slowly gained consciousness, but kept her eyes closed. Her hand rested on Torrence's bare chest. Her head lay next to her hand and she felt his warmth seep into her as he breathed deeply. His heart beat so gently she almost fell back asleep, but she moved her fingers a little and felt a small cold object in her hand. What? She was confused as she opened her eyes to inspect what was in her hand.
Turning her hand slowly so Torrence wouldn't wake up, Olivia opened her hand to reveal a light, almost white, pink hummingbird drinking from a scarlet red rose. Her eyes widened That's the hummingbird from my dream. She thought about it for a moment, maybe Torrence found it for me. She pondered waking him up, oh what the heck. She gently put her hand back onto Torrence and shook him slowly "Torrence?" she whispered. His name sounded strange in this setting. She felt her face grow a blush, Dammit.
Torrence's eyes fluttered open and the first thing he saw was Olivia looking up at him from his chest. Oh my god she stayed!! He cheered to himself inwardly and gave Olivia a small rub on her head. "Good morning my Angel" He purred through his morning voice.
Olivia sat up I am not yours, she said in her head to Torrence, knowing that he couldn't hear her. "Uh good morning" She rasped. Her morning voice was not as graceful as she intended it to be. "I'm going to go grab my mask" She muttered and slowly got off the bed, The hummingbird secretly tucked away in her fist.
She entered the bathroom and before closing the door fully she took a quick glance to see torrence uncover himself with the blanket and stand up. She closed the door and turned to face the mirror. The side of her face was still warped. By now, it wasn't the infection anymore, the infection was gone, but her skin looked like it had been melted. She sighed and gently touched it with her fingers. It still had hard spots on it but at least not because it was covered in scabs. She sighed and picked her mask up off the counter. She looked on the inside and sighed Better than what you have now she told herself as she pushed it up against her face.
She felt it fasten itself to the side of her face and sighed. Torrence knocked on the door "Olivia you okay?" his muffled voice traveled through the door.
Olivia looked at the humminbird in her hand and set it inside the cupboard below the sink. "Yeah, I'm fine" she replied as she closed the cupboard and exited the bathroom. "Just fixing a few things"
Torrence smiled, She is so adorable in her Pajamas. "Breakfast?" he asked even though he already knew her answer.
Olivia nodded "Can we eat on the roof?" She asked
Torrence pondered it for a second, "I guess," He scratched his chin. " But it might be cold, it snowed yesterday" he reminded her.
Olivia smiled and walked to the door, "Oh yeah" she smiled and held the door open for Torrence. "Kitchen it is then" she announced and began to walk down the hallway in the direction she thought the kitchen would be in.
Torrence smiled and followed her "So, where are we headed?" he mused. He knew she had no idea how to navigate his building and the thought of her trying tickled him.
"This way!" Olivia Said and opened a door. It lead into a long hallway. There were candles posted across the walls, causing the shadows to lengthen. Olivia paused in the doorway, gazing down the long ominous hall.
