Torrence noticed what she had discovered and he felt rage begin to boil in his throat. How dare she open this door. How dare she lay her eyes upon these sacred halls. Olivia felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up and she slowly turned around to face Torrence. His eyes burned with protective fire and his hands had made themselves into fists at his sides. She felt herself shrink down in fear at this man she did not know.
Torrence picked her up roughly and carried her angrily to the kitchen I will not let her ruin this meal he huffed to himself. They went down a few halls to the left and a few to the right then down a set of stairs. Finally entering the kitchen, Torrence set her down on a chair and pushed it in for her.
Olivia let Torrence pick her up without resisting. Her eyes were closed the whole way until she was set onto a padded chair and pushed forward. She looked around and saw they made it to the kitchen I thought everything was okay. I thought he was happy. I thought I was safe with him...
Torrence turned around with the food in his hand. He couldn't help but shake as he tried to calm himself down. That was bad. That was a very bad thing I did. Shame on me for getting angry. Shame. He set the bowls down, one in front of himself and one in front of Olivia.
Olivia just stared blankly at the bowl, barely acknowledging Torrence set it there for her. Torrence looked up, his anger hadn't disappeared all the way yet. "Eat" he commanded and took a bite, watching Olivia for her reaction.
She did not move as fear enveloped her chest.
Torrence set his spoon down and glared at Olivia. "I said, Eat" he repeated himself and balled his hands into fists again.
Olivia shifted her eyes to look up at him as tears made their way down her cheeks. "no" she whispered quietly. "I'm not hungry anymore" she muttered and brought her knees up to her chest.
Torrence felt his anger returning and his whole body filled with adrenaline. His hands filled with tingling power as he walked behind Olivia. He bent forward to her ear. "Eat" he growled aggressively.
Olivia couldn't move, her mind screamed things to her that made no sense. Tears streamed down her cheeks and on the left side they stuck to the inside of the mask.
Torrence hated when he got ignored. He rested his hand onto her shoulder as gently as he could. Olivia noticed it was shaking and twitching, she chose not to move. "If you don't eat this by yourself, then i will make you eat it" He threatened and his hand tightened on her shoulder with rage.
Olivia closed her eyes and clenched her jaw closed, anticipating his approach. Torrence felt a small voice in the back of his mind protesting but he ignored it and yanked the chair around so that Olivia was facing him. "Please stop, Torrence, please" Olivia squeaked quietly. She hoped that it would shoot through his anger and reach the man she knew, the man she could recognize.
Torrence paused and stood there, he gazed upon the shivering figure in front of him and his rage began to ebb. He released Olivia and lifted his hands away from her, as if a gun was pointed at him. His eyes reflected a betrayed look of disgust and confusion as he took a step back in shame. "I'm- Olivia, I-I didn't, Olivia... " he tried to speak but his fear of her response took over him and he backed away from her in silence. His whole head began to chant to him shame, Shame, SHame, SHAme, SHAMe, SHAME, SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME. It got louder and faster the longer the silence continued. Torrence sat down on the ground and covered his face in his hands.
A gentle song began to play for Olivia through the silence. She gently lifted her head and relaxed her jaw a small bit. She could recognize this song from a long time ago. It was her song that used to play all the time when fear took over her body. It had the power to calm her down in almost any situation. Olivia closed her eyes and rested her head back onto her knees as memories began to flood back in.
